Real OGs recognized it from day one. The Run is without a doubt in the top 5 of NFS games. Far better than lazyass open world checklist simulator number 137. As for the soundtrack, it's in the top 3 of ALL racing games.

I've heard about a "Cinematic Difficult" im currently trying It's completing the game in Extreme Difficulty, camera in front of the car, manual Gears, and the most difficult thing, no resets. If you reset just one time, you have to start the stage all over again. It's a pretty good and intense Challenge, specially against the clock lmao

This music gives me chills every time. This game is a truly masterpiece. I don't know what people dislike in this game. The story is not bad, races are different, a lot of action, epic QTE moments and all this - is a racing game. Remember the last race in Stage 5 - oh my god, this was so fucking cool.

kinda ironic Ghost and black box both kicked the bucket just when it looked like they were going to get good, the run wasn't well recieved back then but i think people are coming around on it now. same with Prostreet, people are coming out saying they loved that game even though nobody gave a rats arse for it not even a year after release because EA were trying to push annual releases onto the series, which inevitably broke Black Box. The Run basically got shunted because Hot Pursuit came out the year before and Shift 2 came out same year as The Run.

Black box wasnt getting good at all. Their latest games (PS and Undercover) were a failure, full of glitches too. They simply couldnt stick to the 1 year schedule anymore, while criterion managed to make "decent" (i personally despise them a lot) games in that amount of time.

You weren't really supposed to drift. Drifting was far slower and much more difficult to control than grip cornering. Sure, the game rewarded you with XP, but it was never the fastest way to corner. I liked it. The physics were much more challenging and rewarding than any NFS game since.

Rivals was really good from my experience. Probably my favourite NFS because of the premise, sounds, etc I have a lot of reasons for which I love NFS Rivals. I recently bought a copy of The Run and am getting it in about a week. Mainly so I can test the handling model, but also so I can see if the game is decent besides the shitty and fucked up opening cutscene.

I'm a big Underground 2 fan but for me this game is equally cool, on some aspects (tuning, race mode, length, multiplayer...) NFSU2 was better but on Underground you couldn't race on dangerous mountain road, enjoy the thrill of avoiding at the last moment a truck that would have wrecked you (and unlike NFSU2 wrecks have consequence) or doing "acrobatic" overtakes.

its cool to see that u appreciate the game, but if u think about it, the run was made exactly through what its title says and it fits pretty well as a spin off of what need for speed is, i would be glad to see another the run,but what would be the fun of it if its unique idea (1 race only with many competitors) got ran off and instead just followed the hype of each other famous racing game, thats what EA tried doing with NFS through 2012-2015.
