You should be playing the PC version. Even unmodded the game looks great. I just replayed it and it was kickass. It has native controller support.

I've finished UG1 multiples times because it's fun, you tune your car, and instantly jump into a race. In UG2 you had more customization/cars and open world but you had to drive to the races and it felt like a very long game and not as fast paced as UG1. For me UG1 has always been better than UG2 gameplay wise. This is why I also like MW because you could drive to the missions but also just start them and just race.

I prefer 2 more but oohwel i was growing up with version 2 but now i play other games some other games but i choose 2 over 1 but that a choice imo.

this is the best racing game imo. 2nd is the sequel which has a toned down graphics when it comes to night color lights, but has more accurate engine sounds and an open world setting, but wasted resources by putting american boring SUVs. still the first one is much much better
