Need Primogems? Here's How to Farm Them

Hey! I've been on a journey to farm as many primogems and I thought I would make a guide for you guys.
Also, I did not realize that some of the background music was too loud until after I uploaded. While not the perfect fix, I did upload my script and edited the subtitles for accuracy. Sorry about that!

It's worth noting that when you complete all endings of a hangout quest you get achievements, so it's actually 85 primogems per hangout (assuming you don't do the hidden hangout achievements).

Good tip for (SOME) people: If you're collecting chests, remember that depending on the region you're in, you'll also get additional primogems with each chest you open in that region, i.e, Liyue gives out 0 primogems if opened, but Sumeru does! If you're a completionist like me and love getting everything and seeing that sweet 100% on a map, then I recommend tracking each chest with Hoyolab or Interactive Map so as to not lose your progress. Happy Farming! Edit: For the second tip, I'd recommend waiting a good month or so until Hoyolab gets all the chests marked on their own lab (silly, I know), and not opening certain chests.

Heads up that hoyo's interactive map can be pretty innacurate at times because all the pins are submitted by players and with so many chests there are bound to be mistakes.

Once you get through your "backlog" (exploration and quests from old areas), the sustained income is 8-10k primogems per month. That includes newly added areas, new quests, events, dailies, events, spiral abyss, special program and update codes, web events, daily login etc - everything that repeats at least semi-regularly. There's no way to get more as F2P. 10k primos converts to some 60 fates so you can expect to have about one 5-star every patch, out of which about one in every three will be a lost 50:50. So if you're in the process of milking your world for these easy primos, there's a bunch of them but they will run out. Be prepared. If you consider paying for the game and play every day at least a little, always go for Welkin first, then for Battlepass. Both are by far the best value for your money, plus they won't even let you spend too much.

I actually did the math, and using only 420 primogems per event, which occur biweekly, your incremental income is actually just 6010 primogems per month. The math is as follows: 1. All dailies: 30 * 60 = 1800 2. Two events: 2 * 420 = 840 3. 36 star the abyss: 2 * 600 = 1200 4. web login and web event: 2 * 60 = 120 5. Apologems: (livestream 300 + update 300) * 3/4 = 450 6. Paimon bargain: 10 fates * 160 = 1600 Each sub-version occurs in 40 days, hence why it needed to be multiplied by 3/4 for a 30 day period. 1800 + 840 + 1200 + 120 + 450 + 1600 = 6010 primogems per month. You normally hit much higher because 1) every other event gives nearly 900 primogems 2) Each region actually gives a lot of primogems from opening chests 3) Achievements actually add up quite a bit per region 4) Mihoyo often does arbitrarily give people primogems.

So I got really bored and decided to tally how many resources I could expect from an anniversary patch. I'm skeptical of the genshin Fandom wiki website and most of the youtubers estimating primogems, so that's also why I did this. Just found this today and thanks for this info. This was very well thought out. I know that exact pain of getting through Sumeru too lol having had to backtrack through the quests that were suuuuper long, but it was worth to get the primos over all. I'm personally a light spender when it comes to actually getting characters, but even getting some more freemogems here and there alleviate the problem of having to worry about something like money. I ascended asap, no point missing out on better/more items. If you cant beat bosses (other than wolf since he is on world map) just pick the previous difficulty at the cost of losing out on more weekly materials.

You can always put your world lvl down after you do ascend ~ It's only 1 lvl down, but it can help you get the rewards while still having an easier time in your world :D

Use the interactive map! I started using it in inazuma to find the oculi. Then I used it in Sumeru for puzzles and oculi. Now I use it for chests, puzzles, oculi and all exploration related thing. Literally a godsend!!!!! Exploration has never ever been so easy

Wouldn’t spiral abyss be the only problem though? I’d say exploration is one of the best ways to get primos and there’s a world level adjust button if it’s too hard. Also you can’t expect to get a lot of primos if you don’t put effort into painful grinding, that’s just how it goes in most gacha games 😅 Even some major events require painful grinding

@3:55 been playing genshin on the ps4 since its release and i didn't know about the 20 gems per character for interacting with there favourite set in the tea pot. Thanks for that. Especially considering im 68 wishes in on furinas banner on the guarantee pull track. Time to unlock burgeon Dehyas final form. (incase anyone asks, its EM sands, Pyro goblet and crit circlet with the vourukasha glow set and EM/cit/hp/energy substats in that order of priority. Burgeon dehya isn't 100% burgeon damage, its a mix or pyro and burgeon and furina enables this playstyle massively.

For me if I actually want to resist spending my primogems, I just think of a character I really like and how much I like them, then I search up showcases with that character and only that character which makes me really motivated to get them! Its also this thingy with the floors and chambers. While fighting the enemies on each floor of the chambers, u get to complete some small tasks, example "finish in under 5 minutes" or smth. U get 100 primos for each task u complete, there are 3 tasks in each floor. If i remember correctly, there are 9 chambers, with 3 floors each. So thats A LOT of primos 💀

fr, THE ONLY WAY to get primos is just simply play the game🤦complete quests, explore, events, spiral abyss, and achievement hunt if you have a lot of free time. Its been like this since 1.0. If you want any bonus primos just buy the welkin

Farming(specifically in games) is doing any repetitive action for in game rewards and/or currency. Spiral abyss, achievements, exploring, and more are all repeatable things because the game keeps refreshing and/or adding more of them.

I just buy 3~4 trucks of primogems when I use them all in summons, because buying them(primogems) with money is the fastest way(I used about 100 dollars or higher) if you wanna get primogems but don't have much time to play, buy welkin or do daily quests(or get the same amount of reward by just exploring world or clearing quests) or buy full truck of primogems using real money.

Thank you for the vid! I had a genshin account that I ruined because of my laziness, it is probably fixable but the motivation isn't there and it was overwhelming and I slowly lost the drive to play the game so I took a new chance and started from 0. Yes it will be difficult and I will certainly miss all the 5 stars that I got on my other account but I believe that it serves me as experience. I don't mind to much either, I've got friends who are willing to help me as well.

How is checking in daily tedious? If you use the net everyday(which everyone likely does), it's just as simple as clicking one link that you should have bookmarked.. It also gives you mora, food, and other stuff you will use in game. It literally takes one click and one second, hardly much effort since if you play genshin anyway you're gonna be grinding way more tedious stuff like farming bosses, domains, ley lines, etc. And you can make up for 3 missed days, so if you forget some days you can still get all 60 primos a month. And you get the third batch of monthly primogems like 7 days from the end of the month(like on day 23 or whatever) so you can miss like up to 10 days(if you include the make up days) since the last 7 days is not needed if all you're after are the primos. Anyhow, great guide. I think you covered everything comprehensively in a fast and simple to understand way. No click bait at all.. newbs would get everything they need to know just from this one video.

Dont forget that if uou have a creative bone in your body, you can apply for the hoyoverse creator program, tou can make all sort of stuff like edits (mainly on tiktok) gameplay videos, artworks etc etc But it seems like the people in the creator program are very private about the amount of primogems they get, so i assume it may vary
