Lovely helpful video, Pippa, thank you! Here in the states we call the carded core wool slivers roving and the large flat carded pieces bats or batting…wish there would be a universal terminology established! The tops are combed all in the same direction.

So much information here, a really wonderful resource for beginners❤❤❤

Thanks, Yes, I cover the name issues in a couple of other videos, it really threw me at the beginning as people from the US would ask for advice re what to buy, I would always say look for the words batt or batting. Roving is the real wild card as it can be used for both over here, it depends on the mill, thanks for watching xx

Great video!! This is exactly the info I didn't know I needed when I first started needle felting, so I'm sure this will be helpful to new felters. And I still learned a few new terms! ❤

such a great video! thanks so much! as a beginner I always like to know all the terminology and the materials and methods that could be used in a craft and then dive in. Not knowing what's out there has led me to make unnecessary purchases or bad choices in other crafts before.

Fabulous tutorial as per Philippa 😘, I still consider myself a novice and it's good to be reminded of things. Ps It's just dawned on me why Shaun the Sheep is so called (Shaun - Shorn 🤣) xx
