Love dry needling! I had a really bad knee and managed to bend a needle because my quads were so twitchy

Wow! Sometimes needles do bend if the contraction is strong but rarely do needles break which can put you at ease!

Golden Needle, it's an NC company and ships to us on the eastern part of the state from the mountains.

Great vid. I have a patient that has many trigger points in his right lumar erector spinae muscle. I have read that deep dry needling to hit the trigger point has to be more than 10mm. What length would you use? (I have different sized acupuncture needles in my office) Also read to leave them in for 10-15minutes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

I'll leave them in sometimes, especially for chronic pain. I was always taught that needle length helps control depth, so it's important not to use a longer needle than needed as to not go too deep. Best of luck with you learning!

I’m not concerned, just curious: what do you do if a needle breaks while in use?
@JasonWilliamsDC-Chiro-Rehab3 жыл бұрын
The possibility of that is very small and I've never had it happen. I list it on my consent so that patients know it could happen, but it is extremely unlikely. I also only use each needle once before I use a new one. The manufacturing is very good and they're made of stainless steel. Hypothetically if it broke and I was unable to retrieve it I'd send them to a medical professional who could surgically remove it.

I've probably placed hundreds of thousands of needles.

Big thickness give better results for knots isn't that???
@JasonWilliamsDC-Chiro-Rehab3 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. Longer needles are used for targeting deeper muscles and the thickness doesn't vary a whole lot but sometimes thicker needs help with needle control.
