Needle Tatting Fan Earrings

This is a tutorial on how to make this fan earrings. After making this tutorial I found out that there was a shuttle written pattern. You can find the written instructions and the designer of this earrings on etsy www.etsy.com/s...
I used cotton thread size 10 and needle size 0-5.

If we don't want to use beads then we use a picot is it..n for the big pearl bead what stitch is done if.bead is not used? Kindly help mam ..thank you

Yes you put a picot instead of a bead. If you do not want a bead in the middle you might want to use a marker to have something temporary in the middle so you can join like a paper clip

Hi Maria, I love all your different tatting projects. Maybe if you have time in the future, I would love to learn how to do a square table mat I have seen a few where there is a few motifs and they are connected by the picots. I would love that. Thanks Maria

+GwgwSab I use Elmer's glue (white glue) and water. I don't have the right measurement.I think is one part glue 2 part water. I don't really measure it.

Hi maria. u always give us the best. Tks. maria u use size 10 thread. is it 3ply thread. here in sl they name those as 2ply or 3 ply.pls advice. do u use starch at the end of a project. tks

+LAUREEN SAMANKA I looked on line and it said that size 10 thread is 3 ply. I use starch for doilies or for necklaces (it just depends how hard I want the tatting) but for earrings and bracelets I use white glue and water.

Maria, I have noticed some of the earrings I have done have been starched to make them stiff when done. You didn't say anything about this. Do you find that necessary for this pattern?

+Ann Buckham for earrings I used white glue and water but for a doily I just use starch. I feel like for some earrings, bracelets and necklaces you need to harden them so they don't fold or bend when you are wearing them.
