NatR Bingo: wip sound effect, whispering 9" circular needles, Ray breaks out in a random song, "this will be a short episode", someone having to get up to get something, fun sassy marital bickering, both Kevin and Ray turning red over Kevin's books lol

Hi! Ray, I’m the person that was knitting the socks with the Lang sock yarn with the silk in it. 😊 And thank you for the Bare Naked Wool Haplander Square. I purchased the pattern and it’s going into my queue. So nice to meet both of you at Skein Yarn Shop. Kevin, your yarn is just gorgeous! 😀

I love hearing the sound of your budgie in the background. It takes me back 45 years when I had a blue budgie named Icarus. He was so much fun to watch and interact with. He loved to press the front of his beak against his little bell and just chatter away at it. 🥰

Hi guys happy about your new little bird, I never had any luck with parakeets, but cockatiels are fabulous pets, and live much longer. I even bred mind and that was a joy to see the babies hatch. ❤ Do keep the wings clipped, it’s for their safety, as they will fly into windows or out doors very quickly.

Hi Kevin and Ray, lovely knitting as usual. Love the yarn colours you dye Kevin .What fun a budgie, took me right back ,fond memories of my Dad who bred them, each of my three children had one, one of those used to dive bomb the wall every time he was out🤣 . Looking after Grandchildren was special. Knitting socks for my daughters for Christmas at moment, found it hard to match the second sock when yarn was random stripe🙄See you next time enjoy your two weeks🧶👍🏻

Love you guys. I love your projects. I made the easy folded poncho. It turned out really nice. I love birds. I had 2 cockatiels. One passed last year at the age of 26. My other one, Nina is so cute. I have been knitting toe up socks for years and have a favorite bind off. I used to teach toe up socks at my LYS and found the best bind off is a regular bind off using a 3.25 or 3.5mm needle, if you use a 2.25 or 2.5mm needle for the sock. Just go up a few sizes from the needle used for the sock. After blocking, it is even and stretchy, and faster than a sewn bind off.

I already love your bird! They are very social critters. Ray, if you are serious about learning mosaic crochet Tinna Thorudottir Thorvaldar has a YT channel with beginner tutorials as well as a lot of pattern tutorials for her patterns which are generally very beginner-friendly. Kevin, love your colors as always. Your Zorzal shawl is lovely! If the BFL base you're using is non-superwash, that might explain the difference in brightness, but I am not a dyer. Just repeating what I've heard from, I think it was a Wool, Needles, Hands video on SW vs. NSW wool. Thanks for the update and the inspiration!

I love to knit from sock tubes, and I’m sure I will make a ton when I get my circular sock knitting machine in October. But a trick I use when knitting cuffs is I will count down the amount of rows I need for the ribbing put my needles in then unravel the tube to my needles then knit the ribbing that way I don’t have to weave in as many ends and if I’m using the same color of yarn I don’t have to measure the yarn in advance.

Your budgerigar is so pretty. And, wow he is vocal. Budgies are flock birds so maybe he may need a friend so he is not lonely. I am sure he will soon settle down. We had one for 12 years. We rescued him because the breeder was going to euthanize him because he had a wonky wing and couldn't fly very far. He was just like our baby. He sat on my partners lap and watched tv. He sat on my head and plaited my hair. He loved lettuce, apple and cheese and many fruits. They can be such good friends. We called him Charlie Bucket after the chocolate factory boy. The only things he learned to say were, I see and Charlie's a good boy. So enjoy your new friend.😂 I absolutely adore the Rhubarb yarn. It's glorious 🎉❤. Going to look up the Witch books, before I read the Follow up Princess one. Take care boys❤. Love Lynne 😊

It was so great to hang out with you at Skein… I am totally in favor of a monthly visit! The shop actually has open knit/crochet any time they’re open! (They just ask that you use yarn purchased there.) And soon they’ll be open on Sundays again! 😊 Also, yay - I’m so glad you’re enjoying the Big Sully! Ooh, I should not be buying more, but I am loving so many of those new colors of your yarn! I’m currently reading Like Real People Do by E. L. Massey, which is a really sweet M-M romance that I think you would enjoy.

My sister and I had a budgie as kids. His name was Pete and we taught him to play “soccer” using a a tiny plastic ball; he would run across the carpet kicking the ball. He wasn’t a talker, but he was super cute.

Dear Kevin and Ray, I´m very excited for you guys. I my self got me and my boyfriend a green Budgie almost 12 years ago. It’s the best companion and the best addition to our home . He is Green, name is Yoda. He is a Jedi with a strong personality and his favorite snack (and actually only snack he likes) is Fresh basil. Try it out. He still wants to fly around, but his old and small body gets over exhausted. Don’t worry about bringing him with you on trips and vacations. Yoda goes with us on camping, France, Germany and Sweden. He loves it and gets all excited when we begin to pack.

Snap, Ray! I'm also adding toes/heels/cuffs to a sock tube (or two) that I cranked on my machine. And discovering that I am not a fan of this method of sock-making, but on the other hand I'm extra motivated to learn how to make complete socks on my CSM. So there's that! 😂(oh, and +1 for the Italian tubular bind-off on socks.)

Congratulations on Skyler! Be careful of string toys. I had a lovebird who bit off her leg because her foot got tangled in the string while we were out. We got her to the vet in time, but that was a significant bill I never thought about. She went on to live a long, happy life, so it was well worth it. I just wanted to pass this on because I never thought of it, and it was terrifying.
