I am a military spouse and I feel like this song speaks to the hearts of those troops who watch their children grow up on Skype, and to the wives running households on their own who fall asleep with their phones or laptops because the time difference means that 2am is the only time their husbands can talk. Thank you Bear for sharing your heart in this song and saying the words many others around the world are holding in theirs.

Great comment, thank you for your family's service. I am not American but the Grandson of a WW2 vet of an allied nation. I am sincerely convinced that in these dark times it is men like your husband and families like yours that are maintaining our civil liberties. We're fighting an uphill battle, but I rejoice in the fact that there are enough brave families fighting the good fight.

My husband and I have had to be apart for a while and still got a while to go. I've listened to this song repeatedly since he's been gone. MRLN That's so true. That's really what made me fall in love with this band so hard and so fast. You can tell through their music that they've been through some tough stuff. They're real and deep and human and imperfect. They've been in pain and darkness and cages and they've found escape and family and joy.
