Yesterday I almost took my own life. I felt worthless and like I had failed God. Thankfully I called the national hotline and was able to get help. Moreover, I came to realize yesterday that I am truly loved. My roommates and friends here at college all gathered to pray for me and were so happy to see me alright when I got back to campus. It was through them I came to realize God’s unconditional love. This morning, I was blessed with this absolute gem from Needtobreathe. “I push you away, still you won’t let go, you grow your roses on my barren soul. Who am I to be loved by you?” If anyone else struggles with suicidal thoughts, know that you are loved. You are loved by the people in your life (even if you may not realize it) and you will forever be loved by God, no matter what. Hope that encourages y’all. God bless!

I understand that many people relate to this music on a religious level but it isn't limited. I'm an atheist and this bands music speaks to me on a spiritual level. That's the beauty of music. It reminds us that we are more the same than different. It connects us, regardless of beliefs, culture, ethnicity or class.
