Every line in this song is EXACTLY what I feel. I, like many others unfortunately, experienced a very difficult childhood. So much so, that I was never able to be a child. I cared for my sister since the age of 8 and fought for my life against the one woman who was supposed to protect me from it all. I found Needtobreathe when I was 12, and have listened to them ever since. I am no longer a Christian, and will no longer sing this song, meaning what I say. But I still love this band.
