Cannot get over her passing yet. Lata ji was always part of our ethos/consciousness, as her career began more or less at the same time as Independent India. Even as children our earliest memories are sounds and not visuals and so these songs which were playing in our homes and which helped put us to sleep made us believe that Lata ji had been around since the beginning of time. It's hard to imagine a world without her going forward. My heart feels so heavy and I feel a part of me has died.

Vyjayantimala is a living legend. She still dances pure authentic Bharatanatyam untouched by cinematic influence, that too in her eighties. Her charm, beauty, those expressive eyes , eternal dancing and moreover dignity make her unique amongst the Bollywood plastic and silicon trash who knows only to shake their hips that too out of rhythm. Sad if today's generation doesn't know her. It's their loss! Even the dhak dhak girl is not remotely close to her.
