It's okay. The more he progresses through the story, the more he'd be exposed to top tier gourmet techniques and preparations. He won't be ready for the gastronomy shit a certain person does later on. He also did say he doesn't know much about the culinary world and his assessment is coming from naivety.

@@thenameless422 I mean, while that's true, I still believe that judging something when you do not know anything about it is the worst kind of ignorance. And it is pretty common when it comes to gourmet food. I read so many people being like "muh how can it be 40 bucks if it's less food then a 15 bucks mcdonald ?" Like people apparently are fine with paying ten times the price for a car that can go 10 percent faster, but paying double to get truly great food is outside of their comprehension

Incase you haven't realised yet The thing's they show after they eat are what they experienced after eating the food as they "you can experience different things by eating different types of food" or something like that and they'll explain everything about the "god tongue" in detail as you keep going but I don't know if it really exist or not but there are some people who have better sense of taste than others 😅

This is a great show not only because it's funny with a rich cast that have their own stuff going on but because the food made is, for the most part, made based on real recipes and techniques. I believe the manga even has the recipes in them. So if you wanted, you can make that transforming rice dish yourself.

Gourmet food is more on experiencing the flavours, hence why they’re served with so little amount. It’s not supposed to be a meal that will fill you up. I used to think the same way, thinking it’s “just food”. In a sense, of course it is but in this context, it’s the soul of the chef in there. Dive deeper into it and youll see how complicated it could get, which is fascinating.

I love the way the show explores the concept of elite vs. common. People think that only meals made in luxurious restaurants with high-end ingredients are worthy of being called food, while everything is garbage, only for Soma to show them that you can always serve good food, no matter the social standing
