After experiencing powdery mildew on my plant last year, I used a commercial Neem oil blend to successfully solve the problem. This year, I had already planned to purchase "pure" Neem oil to mix myself and save money. I smiled when I saw the title of today's show. Thank you.

Bertha I woke up one morning and was so feed up of the whiteflies and Mealybugs. And using Neem as a pesticide has actually helped alot. Its only that the problem doesnt disappear over night but after spraying every two weeks I have seen a difference. Thant when I thought should share this story.

The beauty about Neem is its non toxic, organic and natural and does the job that all these synthetic pesticides do. In Europe and America they do have Neem Spray for Plants try it.

I have used neem oil on my indoor plants successfully. It's my understanding when using neem oil you shouldn't have the plants in the sun due to burning of leaves, is this true? Thank you for your content and time🥰

Hi I find that it is always best to spray in the evening when sun is going down. In summer the sun can be quite intense so better to take precaution. thank you for sharing and for following my channel.

I was kind of upset because the lable of the Neem oil I got says to soak all parts of the pant, but I read on a Bee conservation site that if a pollinator collects pollen that has been sprayed with Neem, it can disrupt their Endocrine systems. I wish the lable had told me to only spray the leaves and not the blooms! I may have hurt some bees and butterflies and not even known it! The site also recommended that you not water plants with Neem treated water because the plant absorbs it into it's tissue and can affect the pollen that way too. I'm pretty sure just spraying the top of the soil is alright, just not "drenching" soil with it. I love your channel and have subscribed.

Hi Amanda, so sorry to hear that. The best time to use neem oil spray is in the evening, usually this is the time that the pollinators have retreated. A light mist spray would usually dry out on the leaves in about an hour and that is why the evening is best. If the infestation is not servere andonly on a few plant, I wipe the infested area with a damp cloth soaked in the diluted neem solution or soapy water. Spraying the top soil is also a great idea because these mealy bugs, white flies and aphids do also lay their eggs in the soil. Another solution is using water mixed with insecticidal soap and mist spray in the evening, so as to not scorch the leaves. Again water hose, is effective. Spray the infected areas and especially the underside of the leaves. Hope all goes well.
