The Terrorists were specifically after the US citizens on the flight. They asked the air hostesses to collect people's passports in order to identify all the Americans. Neerja hid all the American passports in the trash bin so that they could be saved. The movie is an accurate portrayal.

In addition at her last moments she shielded three kids traveling alone by covering them by herself against the spree of bullets whereas she can be the first to ran from the plane, she can be the first to jump to the emergency exit... But her determination even till the last moment, knowing that it could be fatal to her, even facing death with her responsibility and courage is just alike or even more that the army spirit... I wish if she could have survived then. Such persons should never leave us so soon. Anyway guys... She always keep me that much moved. I request finally please watch the movie. You'll also have this feeling.

The movie was awesome albeit heartbreaking what she did, if you check out the making you’ll see they built the Boeing 747 from scratch specifically for filming. Neerja’s family visited the set, and gave their complete support for the movie filming.

The makers did a great job making the Trailer. The minute Rachel started surfing I was like Nooooo! Stop Right There! they don't know yet pls. I guess I read somewhere she died while protecting three children from a hail of gunfire and one of those children grew up to be a pilot and owes his/her life and future to her and admitted that he was inspired by her. It is also sad that when she died only a few days after it was her birthday. She was a strong woman for before all this happened she fought her way out of an abusive marriage and took the decision to pursue what she likes in life.

watch this movie and it'll leave you awestruck. You'll not be able to leave your seat. I watched this movie in the theatre, and this is the only movie in which I cried in the end. The filmmakers have portrayed it exactly as the true story goes. I read an article which said that the director promised Neerja's family that he won't insult the memory of Neerja. They won't add any false element, and that's exactly what they did. This movie is the best tribute one could give to Neerja Bhanot. I seriously recommend this movie to all those who haven't seen it yet. RIP Neerja Bhanot😢😢 you are the pride of India

She was my senior colleague Harish Bhanots daughter. The hijacking and her killing had such massive impact on all Indians, especially colleagues in the Hindustan Times, a national newspaper, then. The whole nation mourned her loss for weeks. But for her, hundreds would have died at the hands of the Pakistan trained terrorists. One of them, the master mind , was designated as a global terrorist by the UN but is still alive and doing well in Pakistan which refuses to acknowledge his presence!
