Hi there, thanks for your excellent product review. I really enjoyed it. I must of watched 5 bad videos until I came across yours. Thanks for taking the time to go into so much detail. The only thing I wished to know, is how the bottom piece that attaches to the tripod is held onto the rails ? ... it must be screwed in.... I only wished you had turned the slider over to show us that. Anyway, thank you ! 👍

Great video. Was looking for a video slider for my next camping and hiking trip. This one seems will do the job for me. I have been happy with other Neewer products I have brought in the past.
@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY5 жыл бұрын
Neewer really stepped up their game recently. Why do you want a slider for a hiking / camping trip if I may ask?
@authunhx31295 жыл бұрын
I think the 1/4" is good for small ball heads like the Joby. It makes the system very light if you are using micro four thirds.
@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY5 жыл бұрын
Valid point!
@eril20252 жыл бұрын
2 stands are needed, or the weight of the camera will bend the rails down as they go further away from the center, tilting your horizon. This is a fact for all sliders, above 80 cm. This one is somewhat bumpy (maybe for a BMPCC 4K weight), so I returned, and now I am about to get something else.

Damn man, that ending was smooth!! pretty cool, thanks! the screw thing is because that way you can attach a small phone tripod, and all those tiny things. if you need for a big ball head, you use the adapter. it kind of makes sense since you can't use an adapter to reduce the size of the screw! :D
@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY5 жыл бұрын
Thank you!
@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY5 жыл бұрын
Fair point. I was not really thinking about small tripods, because I thought that everybody would use a big one anyway. But so you can both, better for everyone!

Do you suggest, in matter of rigidity while moving the camera towards the ends, an aluminum or a carbon fiber one?
@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY4 жыл бұрын
The material normally doesnt matter that much in my experience. There are good carbon sliders and aluminium sliders out there. Just use rigid tripods and a good (heavy) tripod head for good stability/support. I just uploaded a new video about a different slider, you may want to check it out :)
@NikitizLoryn14 жыл бұрын
@@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY I will. Thanks!

Excellent review! I think I will get one but I'm looking also one with motor to slide since most of the time I film myself working alone. Any suggestions on one not that expensive? Or you recommend me to start with this? Again, great video!
@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment! It really depends on the money you want to spend. There are certain slider system that can be upgraded later on with a motor. So you could start without one, and then upgrade to one if you notice that you need one. But these systems are normally really expensive. If you already know that you are going to need a motorized slider for sure, then I would pull you in this direction: amzn.to/2mRpdlR

Awesome video man! I've just bought that same slider and it works perfect for me! The thing is that all my tripods are shitty and I'm looking to get a Manfrotto one but I'm on a budget. What model is that tripod you are using on the video? Thanks!
@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your nice comment! I just put links to my tripod in the description of the video. The tripod that i am using is really solid, but certainly not cheap. What is your budget? I could recommend something to you if you want, just tell me your budget.
@kuamhea5 жыл бұрын
@@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY Right now I could bid up to USD$100 on an eBay auction for a used one, but I'll be able to invest more than that in a couple of months. Thank you so much and I'll really appreciate if you recommend me something to get stable shots. My best current slider is all shaky, is it because it's all made of plastic? It works really well when I pan with my fluid head mounted on but I want to get better results with my slider.
@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY5 жыл бұрын
@@kuamhea Is your current slider setup quite light? Some weight helps a lot. Which camera do you use? But yes, the plastic material is more flexible, and therefore the slider becomes more shaky. A good / well made tripod will last you your life time. If the Manfrotto one is too expensive for you I would pull you in the direction of the Vanguard brand: amzn.to/2EWQhWM They are a great alternative to manfrotto
@yingyang33217 жыл бұрын

This one is the 100cm version. Yes, it will fit on any tripod as it both offers 1/4 inch and 3/8 inch threads. Depending on your tripod this setup is more or less stable.

Awesome review !! Please tell can use this with fotopro s3 tripod?? Please tell me!!
@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY5 жыл бұрын
I just googled your tripod and didnt find any photos/video where the head was unscrewed. But im pretty sure you can unscrew it, so it would work perfectly. If you already have the tripod, just test it yourself if you can remove the head. If a 3/8 screw (or 1/4 screw) is sticking out, then the slider is going to work.
@jenishkrish5 жыл бұрын

You cant imagine how i hated that floor, especially for doing anything video/photo related. Luckily I now live in a different flat :D There are not any "out of the box"-compatible sets to make the slider motorized, you need to do it yourself. I know of a guy who did that, so it is possible.

How did you attach your slider to 2 tripods(if you have)? There is this screw that gets in the way of me putting the quick release plate on. Great video btw!
@LICHTCATCHINGTOBY7 жыл бұрын
I dont really understand your problem with a quick release plate? The slider offers on both ends two threads. So it is pretty simple to attach multiple tripods.
@sameerc72777 жыл бұрын
That's ok, I fixed the problem. There was a screw attaching the two poles and it got in the way of my quick release plate. My plate is just really big.
