Thanks, bud! Shooters are such a niche genre that they will never garner the views that more mainstream games will bring in, but I don't make these videos for views, I make 'em cuz I love to and people like you appreciate the hell out of them.

Epic review! Gun.Smike is one of my favorites as is the music of that game on the nes. Very awesome and appropriate sample of D.R.I."s Manifest Destiny during the Gun.Smoke segment!! That's just one of the factors that makes this channel so cool

Each segment was so well done, I'm surprised you didn't chop it up and release three separate videos. Amazing work, man! You're getting good with all these fun voice over skits. Would you ever mind lending your talents to me? I could use you in my next video :) Elemental Master is dope, but yeah it's hard. I never did beat a level. Had a blast trying. This game gets major style points. It just oozes coolness. I got Firepower 2000 a few years back and I must have left that sucker on for hours just listening to that start up music. The tank is more fun for sure. Also never beat this game, but two players is fun until someone loses their lives.
@NefariousWes
@NefariousWes 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, man! I can definitely help you out for your next video! Elemental Master is really brutal at first, but with practice it's doable. It's those damn bosses at the end. And Firepower 2000 in my opinion, is even harder! And yeah, that intro music is really cool
@Dongled
@Dongled 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's gotta be the reason for the two different Gunsmoke covers...Elemental Master is amazing, I really wish I could beat it. practice makes perfect...and yes, the OST is amazing. We did a whole episode on it on PixelTunes Radio. Woof...Firepower 2000 looks brutally difficult. Nice work on this :)
@NefariousWes
@NefariousWes 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, man! Do you mind dropping the link to the Elemental Master PTR episode here? That game is so freakin' hard! The levels I can deal with, even stages 5-6, but that dragon boss and final boss--good lord! And that's with my convenient SNES controller set-up. Firepower 2000 may be even more difficult. I couldn't even get past the first stage until I got a few games of practice back in. No continues? Ridiculous! But it is really a great game, and ignoring my nostalgia for Gun.Smoke, is probably the best of the three in this episode.
@Dongled

@@NefariousWes you talked about Trojan in the arcade briefly at the beginning and I kinda went on a tangent. Sorry, the fiance and stepdaughter are in bed and I've had a couple tall boys. I'm assuming by your reply you actually cover NES Trojan in another vid lol. I think I have to do Immortal Genesis vs Nintendo vids next. Got into an argument with my longtime gaming buddy about the quality of that title because he had the NES version for his experience and he never saw the jaw dropping gore I witnessed on genesis back in the day.

@@spineknife2386 Ha ha, you got it, man. I do cover Trojan in another video. The Immortal video is an old one, so there's some cringe-factor there, BUT, I put a shit-ton of work into it, and if you know the game well, you'll probably enjoy it.

@@NefariousWes I think your production value is good and I'm sure your your own worst critic when it comes to script and delivery so you're going to be noticing things that YOU believe you could've done better, but your observations are dead on man and very honestly found so it comes across as genuine. You also have a knack for recalling the time period and initial impressions of when you 1st experienced the game. Those are the key points for what makes these videos great to watch. These videos come across as having somebody you know reminding you about some long forgotten cool shit and finding you of the cool small stuff that you noticed as well but haven't thought about in years. Good shit man.

Was just ,thinkin that the the elemental mastery music was bad ass then you mentioned it. Its funny how genesis shooters are all rising in price so much. And I picked up firepower 2000 a few years ago but have yet to play it. Looks good. Great vid mate
@NefariousWes

Thanks, man! Technosoft games always have excellent music. I think I'm gonna start collecting Genesis repro shooters. The prices are just way too much these days, and I want to actually play them, not just for collection purposes. And give Firepower 2000 a shot. It's TOUGH. We should do a challenge for that, ha ha!

@NefariousWes
@NefariousWes 6 жыл бұрын
The ReNesance I refuse to play this game without turbo. I'm not gonna kill my arm like you did for a 30-year-old video game. Not gonna do that to myself. Some people will say it's cheating, but there's a reason shooters began implementing auto-fire only a year later, which then became the standard. Thanks for checking this one out. It's one of my favorite videos and hardly anyone watches it.
@TheReNesance
@TheReNesance 6 жыл бұрын
Well, if you think about it.. the skill in a game like this is how the player is able to evade enemy fire, not really how fast they can shoot.. so I'm with you in that using turbo is not cheating. That makes me feel better about my revenge on the Wingates! I know how much work you put into this.. it shows in the quality.
