Nice little tour through the drying components. Thanks for making me understand a everyday item a little more.

Excellent video - my washer drier stopped working about 4 years ago with this problem - the repairman fixed it but I didn't play close enough attention and so when I had the same issue again I found your video and this gave me the confidence to repair it myself - all I did was clean out the condenser bottle of fluff and I gave the fan a good clean too and pressed the reset button and then it went back to working (I ran a few fluff cleans and a few empty tumbles because lots of fluff kept on coming out). THANK YOU!

Interesting - my unit (looks like an older one) is intermittant (I've never used that red reset button), so I may have more of a go with the 'fluff removal cycle' to see if that helps. I already knew about the heating element and especially the temperature sensor issues (the latter being quite common), but I wasn't aware about the condenser problem. Mine might be a pain for me to check as it's a built-in unit in a small kitchen, so it might be a shop job. I just hope they know what they're doing as you did, but I suspect any repair won't come cheap. Better than having to shell out £1000 for a new machine though!

Good luck with it.

Great video. Super helpful, thank you. I noticed a sensor just hanging near to the fan motor, and I can't see anywhere that it can slot back into? I thought that I had inadvertently pulled it out somehow when removing the condenser tube. Is this normal to just have a sensor hanging inside the machine? Thanks again. Kev

Hi kev, no that not normal. Can you see where it goes on the video. If you send me a photo I have a spare machine here.... ark.mail@gmx.com

Very good, seems this Neff washer dryer isn't great at self maintenance!

I agree. They regularly get blocked with fluff..

Will this cause the wash cycle to be cold too? This machine is not heating on wash either. The customer said the TOC had tripped and worked once reset. She is saying that the wash is also not getting hot are they on the same TOC?
@razenby Жыл бұрын
Likely a bad heater relay or open circuit element. Track the wiring to the water heating element and check all connections aren't scorched. Check the solder joints on the heater relay on the controller. the thermal cutout. The resistance of the water heater element should read about 25 ohms. Check the NTC resistance .

@@razenby Thanks for the reply. Are they not separate systems? The TOC she reset is the dryer one you showed but she seems to think the washer is not heating as well. I find it unlikely or am I wrong for thinking both would go?

Yes excellent, especially how you go through your diagnostic Sherlock Holmes logical method. So i have 2 analogue & 4 dmm's but none have capacitance range on them, should i splurge & spoil myself ? ... or even one of them ESR meters, that i will realistically possibly use twice a year ! i am trying not to buy any more tools :( as i have almost every tool you could possibly need, .... i just don't like getting them dirty :) lol
@razenby3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Go on.. Everyone needs a Capacitance meter. The MESTEK DM100C is by far the best choice.
