I don’t know if this sounds complimentary, but it’s how I mean it when I tell you these videos put me to sleep way better than any ‘sleep’ music or asmr. Keep up the good stuff!

Yup, same. Chill voice, good sounds.

Indeed, the game's soundtrack alone also works for me.

that's interesting that your most viewed video is a deathworld speedrun. My speculation is that to the average non factorio nerd, "death world" just sounds cool/difficult. To the factorio nerds like me, we've seen a thousand factorio speedruns, and a lot of us probably play exclusively on death worlds ourselves at this point, so it's more relatable, and the additional challenge does not go un-noticed! Either way, cheers for the entertainment and congratulations nef

What a game of focus, speedrunning is. Now with non-stop bleep bleeps. I as a viewer was exhausted near the end. :D

im amazed at how little resources you actually need to launch a rocket. I thought he would need to outpost another oil at the minimum but didnt need to. Remember on my first rocket launch I had 3 oil fields tapped and was still bottlenecked heavily on oil, and i afked a few hours waiting for the rocket. Always felt like you couldn't get enough.
@casmith78911 ай бұрын
for vanilla, oil is mostly turned into solid fuel and plastic (for red circuits/lds). In the speedrun these are buffered so you can store a bunch of "oil" in chests and it means you can get it early and then deploy it late, without needing to get any more
@MCRuCr11 ай бұрын
Congratz Nefrums! But honestly, Factorio speedrunning is just map gambling at this point

Nefrums, for future runs have you looked into flamer defenses that use biter pathing? Leaving a gap in walls that channels them into a funnel, etc. Uses lots of stone, but much cheaper for regular attack directions like from around a lake

For your 100% design your stone brick design could be done like your default setting with the 8 furnaces and feed main base 1/2 brick and stone so you don't have to build it twice and still have it for oil.

How on the world is he making it so deep without attack. I can't get 15 minutes into a dw playthrough wo being attacked
@mennovanlavieren388510 ай бұрын
The pollution doesn't have time to spread. So by the time the first biters attack there is a whole industrial era base.

I'm new to watching the speed running side of this game. How is he setting up those balancers with just splitters on the lines? i've never seen that done that way and it looks faster than regular balancers that ive seen
@nefrums451011 ай бұрын
its not a balancer, its a compressor. It does not balance the belts.

just querying - can pavement save more time on movement then the time spended to pavement making?
@infernalz133711 ай бұрын
I was also thinking maybe a few brick paths in the base would definitely save some time. Maybe analyze some walking heat maps and put a few well place paths for a time save.
@thrakirlp423311 ай бұрын

39:12 Strange, but at first level the order of weapon skills speed and damage goes with annoying order with speed first, since second level it goes with nice order with damage first.

Why robots have not repair kit?
@newellh11 ай бұрын
Robots tend to die a lot when they try to repair during an attack. So it is often cheaper to replace instead
@sillymonkey72511 ай бұрын
If I had to guess, how many items would repair kits have really saved? Very few. Repair buildings between attacks and the biters take out as many on the next attack anyway. And how many bots he would have lost if he crafted repair kits? Bots die to biters easily if you give them repair kits, and they are very important.

@jmatya11 ай бұрын
it is not ugly, it is purposefully optimized to the last belt placement to produce only as much as required, while still be able to (mostly) defend it :)
