This scene shows how smart of a fighter Negan is. The first attack he threw at Carver he reacted really fast and caught it so Negan could tell how fast he’s able to react to things, so when he comes at him with the bell he throws the sand to distract him long enough to land a hit

Negan's experience as a fighter is insane. He's like Carol. There are better fighters than either of them despite their high levels, but they can bridge the gaps between them and stronger adversaries with their cunning. And it's worth noting that Negan was well past his physical prime at that point.

Indeed, people easily forget that he spent 6 years in a cell too so he's way past his prime, the muscle atrophy has to be insane, yet he is still a great fighter due to his calculated moves and learning others moves. Plus there's no such thing as "fighting dirty" in the apocalypse :3

I think Carver is one of the best fighters we have seen in the TWD. I mean the way he moves against 3 people in a tight hallway is hella impressive. He is always inflicting hits on all of them when he will sometimes be focusing on one person. For example, near the end of the fight when Elijah was on the ground and he was focused on Maggie, he kicks Elijah right in his injured leg to essentially make sure he dosent get back up for awhile. To me, that shows how well he was able to read and make use of his environment and his opponents. Another example is at about 1:07 when he is in direct combat with Maggie, he will again use his kick on Elijah to put him down while he focues on one direct threat at the time. Again that takes awareness on another level.

I dunno if this was intentional, but I think this fight was a good representation of the threat the Reapers posed on Team Alexandria. Even though the Alexandrians had higher numbers, the Reapers made up for this by being vicious. While it's true that yhe Alexandrian fighters were skilled after 10 years of the apocalypse, it's apparent that most of the senior fighters aren't taught in any formal way, learning most of what they know through trial and error while the Reapers had military experience were taught how to use thdif body as a living weapon. And then yoy have Negan: Alexandria's wild card. Through his expertise in the fight with the Reapers in General he was able to cone up with strategies that took the reapers off guard which ultimately helped givs Maggie the win she wanted.

Usually it's the opposite in this show. The survivors are the tough bunch with the less numbers vs the many people who aren't that good with a weapon. Governor said it himself "my ppl aren't as combat tested as yours our, but I got more of em". Nice to see it switched up for a change.

Carver's reality is exaggerated. Only H2H showed how cleverly Negen outsmarted him and was also defeated by Daryl. Do not forget that Maggie is weak and Lija is broken and could not make Negen unconscious.

ngl the background music overa;; in s9 to s11 is underrated like even the whisperer's theme was creepy, its a shame reapers had a great theme too but unlike the whisperers( the best villain group in twdu) Reapers were disapointing i would have rather them focus s11 fully on commenwealth, the only reason why reapers storyline is watchable is Maggie Rhee, shes badass and looks stunning throughout

This means that he could've been doing anything from aviation to logistics. We know carvers background though and that he was an infantryman and a mercenary meaning we can be sure of his background in combat.

Carver fought well for a three on one fight, they had to fight dirty just to win. I know the reapers were mercs before šhît wêñt sideways, I’m trying to figure out what particular martial arts carver is using, or if it’s something like june keet do and a personalized style he developed for his own use. A pretty even mix of striking and grappling, and he keeps his opponents off balance, he pushed them into each other, made them panic so they didn’t fight as one unit, ect. You don’t get that good without years of training and practice.

Keep in mind Elijah got shrapnel from a mine blown into his leg the prior night and had to be medicated, so he wasn't exactly in top shape.

It wouldn't change anything. Carver would still beat them to a pulp if not for chip shot from Negan. Elijah is good, for an average survior, but in h2h he is basically zero vs Carver. Maggie is a pushover, one or the other way, throwing a knife would do nothing, as Carver easily dodged Elijah's kama at a point balnk range, do you think a knife would be any different?

Some times during the later seasons of twd i wonder how some of the enemys they ran in to even survived that long, since they dont appear to be verry skilled...Carver wasent one of them. When they got him cornered up 3v1 i totally expected to see them getting their revenge since twd has become one of those "the good people win" shows by now. Seeing him beating all of them felt surprisingly realistic and even the way Negan defeated him at the end didnt felt bad. It was one of the few moments that felt like old twd again.

All the skill in the world but what it always comes down to is experience and intelligence. Negans probably had to fight people as strong and stronger then carver many times and always came out on top. He got hit once and realized he was out matched, and instead of trying to fight it out, he went and evened the odds in about 20 seconds and then bashed his head in. Carver can fight, negan can kill. It’s like an mma fighter vs a marine. The mma fighter might put the marine in a hold, the marine will take the knife out of his boot and be done in 10 seconds.

I think the reapers were really underutilized. The reapers could have had more fight scenes where the viewers are reminded that Rick's group is no match against professional killers who were trained to fight. I wanted some of them to join Rick's group and eventually go up against the Commonwealth's army

Maybe carver very very good fighter just like Jesus. I think carver better fighter than Jesus because his a solider but if you use your brain like Negan you can beat him or Jesus because Jesus doesn't die in a fight Jesus die because of a Whisper that's is 🧠. Maybe fight well is good but if you use your brain well this can beat every weapon just like Eugene did.. Yeah, it really wasn't. Carver is trained, Elijah was injured, Maggie is just Maggie, and Negan has faded a lot after the prison. If Ellijah wasn't injured and Negan was in his prime, Carver would have probably still beat them, but it would have been really hard.
