I'm 61 and still listen to NA. We lived fast & didn't die young.

Old dude with grey sweatshirt yelling lyrics ahah just went back in time to his youth self so sick 0:34

Old dude with grey sweatshirt would have most likely had to been living in the upper Midwest of the USA circa 1981-83 to be reliving his youth. This was recorded in Birmingham England in 2018. I suppose it’s possible but seems unlikely. NA was completely underground at the time and barely known in the Midwest let alone overseas. Or I could be wrong. I did see them at the Freeze theater in Detroit twice early 80s and they definitely weren’t known as a band that had attained a level of success that reached overseas. Brannon worked years to get where he’s at now, usually Cass Avenue in Detroit lol. Regardless grey sweatshirt dude is having a damn good time and knows the lyrics well.

@@ColfaxJones aha forgot about this video, but thanks for the info OG! Wish there was a time machine to see what you experienced!

@@lazurithmusic7165 right on. I only stumbled across this video randomly yesterday and then went down a rabbit hole of nostalgia. I was fortunate enough to see Minor Threat, original Misfits and quite a few others in my glory days of youth. Now I’m pushing 55 but still rocking. The Hold Steady have been a favorite since the came around in 2004 or so. Check them out if you’re not familiar. Known as the best bar band in America. 2nd and 3rd albums are brilliant.

Interesante entrevista, para mi una de las mejores voces e intérpretes del Hardcore Punk.

I think John would admit secretly that he’d rather be remembered for the Laughing Hyenas than NA.

I highly doubt it, NA paved the way for midwest hc

The guys almost 60, the most thanks he’ll ever give to HC is that it gets him out of town and pays bills. If the guitarist from the Hyenas didn’t pass, they could’ve been almost as big as Sonic Youth. He’s not HC like in the early 80’s, no one is.
