Actually you DO want the authenticity card. Not only is it also radioactive but in my case it's even more radioactive than the pendant!

@taylorrahn3 жыл бұрын
The card that comes with it is radioactive too. Not really sure why. I don’t believe that the thorium detected is natural occurring. There are other health products like face masks, bracelets, clothing and others that also possibly contain thorium dioxide.
@allRadioactive3 жыл бұрын
Hey! Thanks for writing. Thorium is naturally occurring element but in this case from what I read it has been added in the production process. I know there are more radioactive quackery items out there and I do plan on featuring them on the channel sooner or later 😃 In terms of the "authenticity card", many people did pointed it out to me but I did not detect anything even with gamma spectroscopy. Maybe they stopped adding thorium to them, who knows? Anyway, I got another radioactive quackery item from Quantum Science so I'll check the card too!

@@allRadioactive Hi. It looks like made from lava, but it most likely isnt. There should be more radioactive elements, such as Uranium. That indicates that this one was made probably in China, and there has been added Thorium dioxide in the process. The correct way how to confirm this would be to look up where was the lava supposedly harvested (some mountain in Japan) and get sample of about same weight and do the spectroscopy. I would guess those would be very different. Most pendants are like this one 0,2 microsievers/hour, some are much more radioactive up to 2 microsievers per hour. Those can be mildly dangerous if worn 24/7. These pendants and similar products are in circulation for at least 10 years by now, and were banned in USA and Canada and by the end of 2021 were reported in Denmark as a product to protect against 5G. People who believe in this quackery usually refer to "weak" medallions as fake, and to strong ones as real, because there was on sale "ion counter" for up to 4000 dollars. If you look it up, it was cheaply made geiger counter with pancake sensor.
@allRadioactive2 жыл бұрын
@@Mir1189 yep, I might have been wrong on the material it is made of. If you will have a look on AliExpress, you will see that there are a bunch of “ion” products sold there which leads me to believe that the Thorium is just added during production. My friend even found some sort of flip flops which contained Thorium…

Cool gadget, but no longer topical. 600 euros for 8.5% accuracy? We know that the accuracy of a true semi-professional spectrometer should be less than 7% at the very least. Not to mention professional laboratory spectrometers with a large crystal. For 600 euros you can buy Radiakod 101 + Radex Opsidian together!!! They have the same spectrometry function will show the same result. Only they are also radiation detectors.
@allRadioactive2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for writing. Both radiacode and Radex obsidian have much lower resolution of the gamma spectrum than the Raysid and have smaller crystals. I’m also not aware of any commercially available portable gamma spectrometer under 600 euros that has FWHM under 7%. If you know any I would love to check them out and compare to RAYSID 😉
