Brilliant video, you are a group of exceedingly talented people. I can't see me taking film in to a studio any time soon, I need to be tethered so I can see where I am going with my light. If my USB port on my 5DII hadn't gone kaput I would never have invested in the 5DIII.

Nice. I'm curious about some of the compositions, though. What is the reason for framing some of the portraits with the head in the center of the frame? I'm sure that there is a good reason for it, but it just looks wrong to me at first glance. Otherwise, beautiful shots.

Great work guys! Really makes me want to move into shooting on film, I've never worked with it before and it's a little daunting! (Which camera, which film, light meters, processing ect ect)
@NegativeFeedback8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! It's not as scary as you think, film is really forgiving (especially good film i.e portra) when incorrectly exposed, just pick up a cheap camera and give it a go, you can only get better the more you try!

Mmm time to get a light meter mates, way more exciting. And also it's worth talking about shooting tests on instant backs, if you can still find the films. This wasn't much of a session.

+negativefeedback I noticed a lot of the shots on the Leica had a lot of head room. I was wondering was that a stylistic choice or is that simply the crux of shooting without a mirror.

What's the best approach for making sure you have your flash set to the right power when dealing with film, where you can't see the image right away?

Light meter hooked to a PC sync cord hooked into the flash. Or a digital test shot which is what they used here
