I'm trying to find a 71 duster like my grand moms . Hers was blue with the white road runner stripe , black bench , side pipes , deep dish cragars , 340 .. I've never seen another like it . I would break down if I found 1

Oh yes the “ good old days”, late 1970’s when I owned 70 340 Duster Green, Ran low 11's at Baylands Race Way in Fremont California, from Milpitas, California MADE a list of cars I won against! Never lost a race, this car hooked up on the street These cars were plentiful and cheap back then. They were on every block and high school parking lot in California even a primer gray neglected Super Bird. By the way kids worked on their own cars, just add a new cam, headers and intake plus carburetor ? Duane Heydon

I lived by a farm out in the middle of nowhere in Iowa that has 8-9 Dusters (3 or 4 340 cars) and multiple Mopar station wagons. Also 440 power wagon Dodge trucks and some older 60s Volkswagens.

Auto Archaeology , hehe thanks! We also used to play “Mafia Trunk”. Our Gold Duster had a fairly rare feature - you could fold down the rear seat back from inside the car, and get directly into the non-hatchback trunk. On long trips the kids would stretch out to sleep with lower body in the trunk. If a kid was entirely in the trunk, and another kid closed the seatback, that was called ‘Mafia Trunk’.

Original tires, do not drive on them. Rubber breaks down over time. Your not storing those cars correctly, you might as well sell them to someone who's going to take pride in them and care for them.

What the hell is the point of buying a car and putting 16k miles on it then putting it in a barn for 40+ years, stupid! I've got at least 3 Toyotas with over 200+k on them each one almost 300k with no major repairs, I've owned GMs ford and Chryslers even a duster the 6 cylinder version. They all broke down ecpt my 2 ford trucks. I've had 14 Toyotas always driving over or close to 200k on each car. And yes I've blown up motors or torn up cars. But I wouldn't park one in a garage with 17k miles on it for 40+ years. Imagine if the guy had a ford bricklan hed had for 40years. You don't see them often anymore.
