I remember when dusters and novas were the poor man's musclecar. Not anymore.

I remember seeing one of these dusters for sale about 15 years ago. Garage kept for $2,500. I should of bought it when I had the chance.

Guy around the corner from me had a brand new one, 72 340 Duster Black, white interior white stripes flat black hood w 340 wedge on it, 4 speed console car, by 73 he never opened the hood in public again, put a 440 in it, put tires and Keystone Classic wheels on it, and transplanted the 340 and the factory tires and wheels over to his mothers satellite wagon, and dropped a 440 percent n the Duster, we were GM guys, myself a Pontiac man, or kid I was 12, no one could beat him
@pontiacgrandprix7336 жыл бұрын
Dave Moore he definitely did, cause I know it had a console and 4 speed, definitely had 340 wedge on the hood and longer tail lights in the rear
@pontiacgrandprix7336 жыл бұрын
Dave Moore I'm not doubting you, he transplanted the 340 from that car into his mothers Satellite wagon, along with the 340s factory mags

My first car was a 72 Plymouth Duster. It was blue with the 340 black stripes, bucket seats, console shifter, torqueflite 727A, 2.02 Heads,4 bolt main, steel crank. It had a Holley 600 CFM with vacuum secondaries, a Holley Strip dominator intake manifold, a pretty decent cam, and a set of Hedman Headders. I bought the car off of my brother's friend for 500 bucks back in 1978. I wish I still had that car😢
@thewriter2549 Жыл бұрын
Do you want to buy another Plymouth Duster? $1.00 in 1972 is worth $7.22 in today's money, so that's $3610. If anybody has a 1972 Duster for sale, email me at jerryheasley@gmail.com

Oh yes the “ good old days”, late 1970’s when I owned 70 340 Duster Green, Ran low 11's at Baylands Race Way in Fremont California, from Milpitas, California MADE a list of cars I won against! Never lost a race, this car hooked up on the street These cars were plentiful and cheap back then. They were on every block and high school parking lot in California even a primer gray neglected Super Bird. By the way kids worked on their own cars, just add a new cam, headers and intake plus carburetor ? Duane Heydon

@thewriter25496 жыл бұрын
I thought the same thing at first, but you have to realize how far back this find goes - at least 32 years. That's how long they knew one another. Danny really wanted the car.

I get that... have had many people stop by my place telling me i should sell my old truck to them because i am never going to do anything with it. Hate that, what do they know ? and when i ask them what they would offer it is always a crazy low ball price.

No, why do you ask? My audio needs improvement?
@calvincooley10746 жыл бұрын
Jerry Heasley He is a native of Sidney Ohio, where I'm also from. I saw that you build stage set-ups so I thought you & he may cross paths as your both in the concert business. You can find him on Facebook. I was FB friends with him at one time (I'm no longer on FB) and ironically I saw him in downtown Sidney once while he was home from California about five years ago as I have keen recognition skills. He keeps a house here. I called out to him, asking I if he was Dave, he was and I introduced myself to him. I know his neighbor who watches his property and is also a passionate car guy with a small collection. That's the scoop I'm subbed. Thanks!

i disagree on the paid to much....actually a good buy...especially with the original paint and same owner and its been stored up and nobody been driving it either......damn good price

First thing I do is rip that little 340 out and drop in a modern hemi. Drag racing back un the day? I hope he ment street racing cause your not winning to many races with a '72 340.
@daviddennison36476 жыл бұрын
Did you ever drive one?
@mickjagr35386 жыл бұрын
I beg to differ on that....cause alot of it has to do with the driver....not to mention 340's can be really quick given these cars are light weight
@sbc3885506 жыл бұрын
I can tell you from personal exp. that that 340, even the '72 340/ 240 h.p. would give fits to 389 G.T.O.s, 383 Roadrunners big block olds cutlasses, etc., from streetlight to streetlight. Now in the 1320 I could always pull 2-3 cars off the line to about 2/3 to 3/4 down the track, at that point I could hear 'em coming up my ass quickly and the cubic inches roared on by. It was always that way, the big blocks, in stock form, would get rolling and just blow my doors off at the finish, but I had a ball hole shotting 'em off the line. Those were the good old days for me...................................... Jim.
