सर हम तो चाहेंगे की आप भी पंडित नेहरू और बाबासाहेब आबेडकर इन दो महान नेताओके संबंध मे आप कुछ बताये. क्यो की इन दो नेताओं के संबंध के बारे मे भी बहोत कुच हम नहीं जाणते. बाबासाहेब और गांधी के संबंध के विषय में तो काफी पुस्तकें नाटक और सिनेमा भी है लेकीन नेहरू और बाबासाहेब के संबंध मे बहोत असमंजस हैं.. अब सौरभ के शो की ही बात देखे तो हमे तो यह मालुम हैं की हिराकुंड, भाक्रानांगल योजना मे बाबासाहेब आंबेडकर का योगदान और दूरदर्शीता थी लेकीन यहा नेहरु का जिक्र हो रहा हैं, मै कोस नही रहा हुं बल्की कन्फ्युज हुं बस.. तो सर यही गर आप थोडा विवेचन करे तो असमंजस दूर हो. बाकी the lallan top तो हर भक्त ने देखणा चाहिए..

किताबवाला के इस अंक के लिए अनेक धन्यवाद। श्री बबेले की यह पुस्तक मैंने पढ़ी है। इसलिए भी यह अंक मेरे लिए अधिक रोचक हो गया। लेखक मेरे पुत्र के हमउम्र हैं। यह एक बड़ी वजह है कि मैं उन्हें साधुवाद देता हूँ। वरना उनकी पीढ़ी के आसपास का एक बड़ा वर्ग ग़लत कारणों से घोर नेहरू-विरोधी है। लेखक ने कड़ी मिहनत से शोध किया और लगन से पुस्तक लिखी है। विश्वास है कि नए संस्करण में पं. नेहरू की नीतियों और उनके कार्यों को तत्कालीन परिस्थितियों के संदर्भ में प्रस्तुत किया जायेगा। देश के अन्दर हालात क्या थे और बदलती हुई बाहरी ताकतों का देश पर क्या असर पड़ने वाला था? पिछले दिनों कुछ "महत्त्वपूर्ण" व्यक्तियों ने पुस्तकें लिखी हैं जिनमें सरदार पटेल और चीन को लेकर पं. नेहरू पर कुछ आरोप लगाए गए हैं। लेखक इन पर भी प्रकाश डालेंगे।

एक और चोट के कारण पटेल अपमानित महसूस करने लगे। उनके मातहत रियासत विभाग था। फिर भी नेहरू ने उन्हें पूछे बगैर शेख अब्दुल्ला को सीधे 20 लाख रुपये भेज दिए। पाकिस्तान को 55 करोड़ रुपये देने का मामला भी तूल पकड़ता जा रहा था। गांधी-नेहरू कहते थे कि पाकिस्तान को यह रक़म देने का हमने वादा किया है। वहीं, पटेल ने सार्वजनिक रूप से कह दिया था कि पाकिस्तान ने कबाइलियों को आगे कर हम पर हमला किया है। उसने दोस्ती नहीं निभाई। वादा नहीं निभाया। हम क्यों निभाए? यह बात दोहराने की जरूरत नहीं है कि गांधी ने इसी मुद्दे को लेकर अनशन किया था और उन्हें बचाने के नाम पर यह रुपया पाकिस्तान को दे दिया गया। पटेल यहां भी मन मसोसकर रह गए। दिसंबर 1947 से ही नेहरू-पटेल के रिश्ते तल्ख होने लगे थे। गांधी ने बीच-बचाव कर दोनों के बीच सुलह करवा दी, लेकिन यह भी बहुत दिन नहीं चली, जो पटेल के इस्तीफे से जाहिर होता है। फिर गांधी की हत्या के बाद सारा सीन ही बदल गया। नेहरू निराशा से घिर गए। 29 मार्च 1950 को पटेल को भेजे पत्र में नेहरू कहते हैं, 'मैं जिन आदर्शों पर चला, उनका अब कोई मायने नहीं बचा। भारत में जो स्थितियां बन रही हैं, उनसे न केवल मैं निराश हो चुका हूं, बल्कि मुझे लगता है कि मैंने जीवनभर जो कुछ किया वह निरर्थक हो गया है।' इस पत्र का पटेल ने तुरंत जवाब दिया और कहा, 'आप इतने परेशान और त्रस्त हैं, इसका मुझे अनुमान नहीं था। मुझे थोड़ा भी पता होता तो मैं फौरन आपके पास पहुंच जाता। समस्याएं हल कर लेते। हमें ऐसा कुछ नहीं करना चाहिए, जिससे दोनों के बारे में जनता में और भ्रम फैले।' राजनीति में लिखा-बोला कुछ जाता है, किया कुछ और जाता है। इसलिए इन पत्रों का संकेत यही मानना चाहिए कि दोनों कुछ समय शांत रहना चाहते थे। लेकिन महात्मा गांधी की हत्या के बाद राजनीतिक स्थितियां बदलीं और पटेल ने अपने इस्तीफे पर जोर न देकर मंत्रिमंडल में बने रहने का निर्णय किया। नियति ने इस सुलह को 15 दिसंबर 1950 को पटेल के निधन के साथ तोड़ दिया। लेकिन इस सवाल का जवाब अब भी बाकी है और रहेगा कि पटेल के साथ क्या अन्याय नहीं
