@@yvonneplant9434 not everyone has insurance. I actually don’t know what process you have to go through if you’re just renting an apartment on the ground floor and you and your neighbors units get this amount of water damage and it being not your fault. I also live in Florida (not in this town) and my apartment is on the 4th floor of my building so I haven’t encountered this type of problem yet thankfully. I wouldn’t know what to do if it did, so I feel for all the people in this video.
@alexmunch61182 ай бұрын
@@l1z4rdon7 If you're renting you wouldnt have to worry about insurance since you're not the owner of the place. It would be the owner, or, your landlord thats renting you the place choice if he or she decides to do it or not. I certainly would not be owning or even renting a place in a flood zone. Especially a place on the 1st floor. Thats just asking for trouble. In fact i wouldnt even want to live in Florida for this reason alone. I think that because of weather events like this that happens so often down there is the reason you rarely see basement homes down there

The rainy season has only JUST STARTED. So relieved we never decided to buy propery in Florida. Insurance is going to be more expensive than the mortgage soon and you wont be able to sell properly.. 4000 condos in cape coral already that is not selling.

People are flocking to FL. I don’t know anybody who would want land in Cape Coral. It’s vacation land. It’s surrounded by water on every street. Literally. We love to rent a house during the summer. But, live there, nope. Don’t sell that as FL. I’ve never seen anything like it. The migration from other states is shocking. I live in rural NEFL on 11.5 acres. Just built a home. I’ve been around here my whole life. I’ve met 6 couples from California who have moved here within the last 2 years. They are loving it. They love how clean it is. How big and beautiful the properties are. How close the beach is from anywhere you live. The rivers, lakes, marsh, for swimming, activities and fishing (all year round). Business is booming for construction. Beautiful homes are being built, young couples with children are moving to rural areas. The parks are great. The schools are good. City centers are growing so rural areas have much more convenience without the problems of the big cities. The weather is amazing. Hot, but no snow. There’s only a couple months of really hot. There’s so much money being put into roads. It’s fabulous. All you have to do is bring in dirt and build your house up a few blocks when you lay the foundation. Make sure you have a drainage ditch. Honestly, it’s definitely Your loss. We won’t miss you.

What area on earth will flood with incredible 20 - 24 inches of rain in 3 days. Recall the terrible flooding in the desert of Las Vegas Nevada last September 2023 with about 4 inch’s of rain, and that’s a record amount for the Mojave desert. Yes Death Valley was flooded less than a year ago. People forget.
@robertmartinjr.45373 ай бұрын
@Victorseafog difference is Death Valley's arid topography allowed for the water accumulation to drain off rapidly and it's in the middle of nowhere. These recent Floods in south and parts of central Florida were large populated metro areas damaging businesses homes and countless automobiles.

Ty Joel for impactful filming & commentary- you really brought the reality of flooding home . Shouting out from Hollywood in Broward, had to work Wed night because my store was too dumb to close, waded through shin-high water in my Crocs to get there. I had a ride, but I told him not to drive through that, maybe flood his engine. Better I just go on foot (scary!) But thank you again for your intrepid (but safe) filming and concern for the stranded and affected. Will def watch more videos by you.

At the moment, many people still don’t realize that this is just the beginning and it will only be increasing and synchronize all around the world. There’s a way to mitigate it, though! Please watch the documentary by independent scientists: “Water from the air. The path to saving humanity.” We can overcome climate challenges but when we act together.

The sandbags reminds me of how my old job prepares for floods and hurricanes. I worked at a Chinese grocery store so we had a ton of 25lb and 50lb bags of rice. We stacked all of the rice bags in front of the doors. So if the water leaked into the store, the bags of rice would start to absorb the incoming water. Not sure if it actually works tho haha. I also live in Florida (not in this town, but a tad bit further north), and my only thoughts when watching this is the fact that hurricane season hasn’t even started yet. Also be careful when walking in that water. Alligators could be swimming in it, especially if you’re finding fish on the street.
