Lots of great info. However, it does not have the optional steel bumper and the fog lights are not HID LED. There are 3 different bulb types: halogen, HID (High Intensity Discharge) and LED. The fog lights are LED, just like the headlights.

Just picked a 2018 JLUR but it had all the bells and whistles including a matching color hard top. Way too luxurious for me but boy can it go.. Compared to my JK this one feels like a supercharged jeep.

Really nice Jeep, the JL... I had a '90 YJ; cool and fun car, but not really for everyday use here in Scandinavia. The new ones JK and especially the JL are improved by lightyears. I think we will not get the V6 as an option in Europe though... But the 4 cyl has about the same power, quite amazing. The new JL looks like the perfect "do all" veicle, and a bit more civilized than the JK... Time to become a Jeep owner again 😃 Good job on the review 👍

I agree. My dad has a JK he uses daily and I don’t see how. They aren’t comfortable and get horrible fuel economy. However, I think that’s what’s so great about them. They don’t pretend to be something they aren’t the JL is a huge improvement, but deep down, it’s still a Wrangler! And, here in the States, we are excited to FINALLY get the diesel version!

Only on the Rubicon. And all Rubicon interiors have the red. There’s no way to opt out of it. Also, as I’ve had this question asked, there are no 2-door Sahara models. Those are Unlimited 4-Door only.

No. It is a bit quieter due to the fact that the roller is part of the vehicle structure and the hard top panels have a tighter seal. It is still noisy, but nothing like the previous model. Wranglers will always be a little rough around the edges!

Only thing I don't like is the red dash panels: ok on a red car, actually nice on a red one but why not colour match them? Red stitching is fine... I'd buy a Sahara but I need the stronger driveline and lockers and it's not worth building one up or voiding the warranty... I like red but prefer this or mojito which I believe will be deleted by the time us Aussies get them.

No its the same as the 8 speed in the 1500, not weak.

Scott Falkner I said weaker. The 8 speed has a rating of 60 LESS lbs ft of torque than the old trans. That's quite a drop.

Steve Pounder The engine's torque output isn't the only factor when it comes to offroading. With the amount of torque multiplication a Jeep can create, you want a strong trans.

231mac I agree but that being said the trans is rated to handle significantly more torque than the 3.6 can make. The trans doesn’t care if a transfercase is mounted or it’s multiplication factor. It’s just not a issue. Plus jeeps aren’t typically hopped up over stock like a V8 car so you’ll never reach its limit stock.

It is a little bit, but that is a Wrangler for you. Even in their current JL status, as refined as they are from previous models, they still retain some of the characteristics of the Wrangler. Since the doors are removable, they carry less insulation and more rudimentary hinges. Because of this, they are independent from the structure of the vehicle.
