What I love about Sharpsburg is that if you cut out and picked up the entire neighborhood and dropped it into the middle of PA, it would just be any other little PA town. Its really amazing how its so self contained and that you barely notice that downtown is 3 miles down the river.

Dean, The work in all your videos I've viewed is fantastic, even outside of Neighborhoods. You clearly have a wonderful grasp of the art form. It's my hope that you come to realize and accept that what has set your Neighborhoods series apart from the rest of your features is not only your skills with a camera and software, but it is you. YOU are the star, and you are the star because of your ability to make the people you speak with the star of THEIR segment. You grant them comfort, audience and joy in their fifteen seconds of fame. That's the formula that makes these little moments so special. The flip side being that in a world of sensationalist coverage, we'd all gladly pay to see the real, human side of ourselves and our neighbors portrayed on a screen. Unfortunately, the big networks know it. Best wishes!

Hey bro I'm a big historian type and Burgh lover and also love your videos cause I've always loved the different neighborhoods and the uniqueness they have ...I could talk about this stuff all day.. More than a few have told me I should be a tour guide or write books on The Burgh . I've lived in several neighborhoods and walked almost every street in most everyone of the cities neighborhoods and most so called boroughs that really are just as much a part of the Burgh such as Dormont, Carnegie, Crafton, The Rocks, Bellevue, Milvale,Etna, Sharpsburg, Aspinwall, Wilkinsburgh and down the Mon Valley...I know alot of folks like the suburbs but many more like myself love how the neighborhood feel lets you walk to the park or to get coffee or wherever and just be around the people places and feel at one with everything.. I love so many different neighborhoods but if I had to list my favorites I would say Squirrell Hill Shadyside Bloomfield Oakland Mt Washington Brookline And though its actually a borough Bellevue is up there as well .. Along with Dormont and Aspinwall ..

Dope. I'm from Philly and your documentations of Pittsburgh are fascinating to me. Always been curious about the city always comparing and contrasting and what I've found the most intriguing is how old the neighborhoods look and how the citizens still take pride in the original neighborhood names.
