At least it was tall enough where you could do a forward crawl. Thats a lot nicer than negotiating a very low narrow gap where you have to do an "on your back and inching along" type crawl. I used to hate those on "on my back" crawls. They are so slow and it takes forever to cover the distance.

What the hell is this? Did they excavate it on their knees by candlelight? How the hell did they dig the tunnels for the pipes and line them? How did they get the pipes down there and inserted? How long are the pipes and how long are the pipe segments, they could only insert about an 8 foot pipe at a time given how small the tunnel is, did they just keep pushing them in? How long did it take them to line the entire thing with stone? And why? Or was this all cut and cover. So many questions...
