Hi Raychel. My question is where could be good start with kids? Which rental apartments are preferred by families?

Love the neighborhood-specific info, thank you! Watched other videos and they were annoyingly vague. Most of these were already on my radar except for Hastings-Sunrise, which sounds great. Made me discover the R (rapid) buses, which would be a good alternative to the link I think

Great video! I've lived in Vancouver 28 years in many areas and my top 3 are Kits, The Drive (commercial), and the West End. You are correct about the West End being more affordable than most places in the down town area, especially considering where it is in relation to the water and all the amenities.
@nickandraychel3 жыл бұрын
Yeah!! I've yet to have any luck with rentals in Kits, which is why we didn't mention it, but it's SUCH a beautiful area. Thanks for watching!!

Thanks MUCH for the share and video! You covered many of the areas I remember so well, being from Vancouver, and spent many years their in 50's to 70's... I find it extemely interesting in your finding affordable places to live there, as cost was a major issue and reason I left in the 70's. All the BEST to you and all in the New Year! Cheers from south of the closed border :)

So glad you enjoyed it!! Hopefully you can come back for a visit some day. As for us, we can't wait to get over that border as soon as things calm down, lol!! Happy new year :)

@@nickandraychel Thanks again! Yes it will be great to have the border open again, this past year has made me realize that I need to get back to Vancouver to visit family and friends as too many things are so uncertain in life... Your video shows the maps I relate to so much, and even the hospital where I was born... Enjoy your travels and adventures! Too funny that we are separated by generations, but have the same have common interests and love your ambulance life! Cheers and all the BEST! :)

I was literally considering moving to Vancouver or Kelowna in the next 3 months . No work here in Ontario for me and Ive always lived pretty minimally so the rent is honestly the same ( I live in Barrie, ON which costs as much as Toronto) Ive found a few decent room rentals in both cities too, I just need somewhere that has a good bus system ! :)
@nickandraychel3 жыл бұрын
Oh great! Either Kelowna or Vancouver would be fine - it’s all about preference. The prices in Barrie have really crept up j over the years hey! Craziness.

I definately like a smaller city - would you say Kelowna or West Kelowna or maybe Vernon ?

I love your videos. I also wanted to know any ideas regarding car insurance I heart it is expensive. I’m planning to move from Toronto to Vancouver
@nickandraychel3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah ICBC is the mandatory insurance in BC - we don't have the choice here so it can be a bit of a pain. You can always get a quote from ICBC over the phone / maybe even online.

I’m looking to move back to Vancouver in November hard part is finding an apartment that allows large dogs as I have a 70lbs golden retriever. What would you recommend. Love the video!
@nickandraychel3 жыл бұрын
Ahh yes, you know what - we should have mentioned this. These places do exist, but they are trickier to find. I don't know if it's a coincidence, but everyone I personally know with a dog lives in the Mount Pleasant / Broadway between Cambie-Clark kind of area or in North Vancouver. I know that the SPCA and Vancouver City Council were looking to change the "no pets" rule in BC, making it impossible for landlords to tell you no, but I'm not sure when that will be in effect. They did it in Ontario, it's made a massive difference.

@@doald Just going to clarify that we meant affordable, not cheap. Vancouver is expensive, but I've never spent more than $800/monthly on an apartment including living solo - I've never made more than $17/hour in the city so I didn't really have a choice. Not sure what's wrong with the Celebration of Light being near the pride parade lol. I know Vancouver is expensive, it can be stressful, we talk about it a lot in this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHzUiHuDZ8SffLdh but it's home, and with a bit of craftiness, you can make it work. Wish you the best.
