They lasted because they're both families. We have a lot of couples and singles at the moment, but not enough families, and that's where the best characters and dramas tend to come from.

I agree. Neighbours works best when they have families on the street . 2013, when theTurners and Willis’s joined. One of the best years that year, felt a bit more like the old Neighbours.

Janet and Jackie don't appear to have aged at all in 20 years! Both were great in Neighbours, but I loved Janet in Prisoner as Reb Kean as well - the tugging on her shirt collar was always a sign that something was about to kick off! 🤣😂
