To any fan of Matt Wilson, I suggest that you look up his interview on the UK show, 'The Wright Stuff'. His attitude towards homosexuality is, to put it lightly, unfortunately revealed in this interview. I understand that he has since apologised for his 'poor choice of words' - however it was his mindset that was revealed in this interview, a mindset with no understanding of the gravity of his actions nor the responsibility he has as an actor playing a homosexual in Australia during a time of struggle for Australia's LGBTQ community. To the Neighbours producers, you do a good job of making progressive decisions. You should understand that you are losing some of your following because of Matt's continued success playing a character he does not fully understand. Matt Wilson has damaged your brand and the longer he stays the more I think that Neighbours must be 'okay' with what he did. My only suggestion is that you write this character out of the show and replace him with someone media-trained enough not to make damaging statements, such as he did. Seeing his continued success is both stupid and offensive.
