I just watched Neighbours again for the first time in years and I was SO RELIEVED that the awful 2013/14 out of tune bad singing credits were gone. This one is lovely, makes me feel happy to watch Neighbours again.

From 2010 onwards, every visual of the opening titles was unimaginative and felt the same. Just clean, outdoor garden shots, characters posing like catalogue clothing models, with names, moving from shot to shot. It was literally the same version from 2010-2022. They've had some very creative ones over the years, my favourite being (ironically) the 2007-2010 version. The 1997-1998 was also one of the best, along with the 1988 and 1996 versions.

Agreed, every set since 2011 has been very 'Garden Centre Ad', with all the shots framed in the same way and minimal movement from the characters. I think the 2010 set looked the best, as there's a bit more life in the shots and variations in the framing. You can tell that a bit more effort was put into it. But with each update, they've become more and more static and dull. The noticeably cheaper production values on every version of the theme since the 2013 revamp has not helped either. This set (2015) did nothing for me.

I only just started watching neighbours this year in like may I think but I kinda remember seeing it advertising back in 2015/14 and being like I'm gonna watch that I watched it with my nan all the time as well in 14/15

Something about this opening reminds me of the current openig of the Bold and the Beautiful and the closing reminds me of Knots Landing's closing from the first two seasons. Love the credits and the theme song. Just started watchig this show on Hulu and so far its pretty good.

Not sure it's a good idea to put the actors names in the intro because the intro should be trying to build the illusion of Ramsay Street, it might effect the escapism aspect. At the end of the show is fine because the 20min or so of being somewhere else as faded away and it's intresting to know the actors name who you've been on a emotional ride with.

Because Neighbours is a soap about 'life in the present day'. You can't have a 'dated even in the 80's' tune representing 'life in 2019'. I don't think there's a single soap around that has never changed the theme.
