The Late Late Show with James Corden

3 жыл бұрын

James Corden and Neil deGrasse Tyson reunite over a year after Neil was supposed to appear on the show before we all went into lockdown for COVID-19, a societal test he feels we largely failed. After discussing the importance of science literacy as it relates to our longevity as a species, Neil shares some of the takeaways from this experience we should hold on to when we go back to "normal." And James asks Neil about the inspiration for his new book "Cosmic Queries."

Each week night, THE LATE LATE SHOW with JAMES CORDEN throws the ultimate late night after party with a mix of celebrity guests, edgy musical acts, games and sketches. Corden differentiates his show by offering viewers a peek behind-the-scenes into the green room, bringing all of his guests out at once and lending his musical and acting talents to various sketches. Additionally, bandleader Reggie Watts and the house band provide original, improvised music throughout the show. Since Corden took the reigns as host in March 2015, he has quickly become known for generating buzzworthy viral videos, such as Carpool Karaoke."

"A mask is a badge of honor among those who are scientifically literate." Absolutely. My sisters live in Oregon and I live in Florida. Mask etiquette between the two states is baffling. In Oregon, you are considered extremely "uncool" if you aren't wearing a mask in a public space and scowls are not afraid to show upon the upper half of everyone else's faces (bc they're all wearing masks). Even in the more rural areas where they don't tend to wear masks as frequently, my sister has told me that people will notice her wearing a mask upon entry, and out of courtesy, they will put on a mask while she's there. On the other hand, I saw a couple without masks checking out at my local Publix here in Florida. After they left, the employee told me that they aren't enforcing mask requirements in the stores to "minimize the amount of fist fights that occur within the store." I want to leave this state.

There are so many wonderful minds and thinkers like NDT, but not many have that enthusiastic approach and excitement. I wish he was my professor when I was in school. If there were more like him, we would be far more advanced then we are now. The best thing about him is he reaches out to all levels of education so you don’t have to major in quantum theory to understand his message and wisdom.

Yeah, except it's completely wrong. Location is still incredibly important - you can't be on a video call if you can't transport the data to the correct locations. Fine, we don't have to move ourselves now (which the telephone changed in 1875) but we still need to move information and that is completely linked to location - just try living in a small remote village and join a video call.

As well as 'time', 'place' does still exist. It might be an URL now, that's all. Turn up at the right time, but the wrong URL, then it's a mistake. Does an URL have physical co-ordinates?

He's just an empty person who doesn't like thinking much. Neil deDumba$$ Tyson asked about the start of the universe and if he believes in God: Larry King, "Who started all this; do you believe in God?" Neil, "The proper question should be who or what started it, but I don't know. If I don't know I'm going to say I don't know." from the beginning of this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rF7Uhmd8ZdGBnLc What we KNOW and have NO doubts about... Real science says nothing does nothing. Real science says if there was something there already it must fit with the evidence of what we know. We know the 1LT says there's a conservation of energy. It can change forms and neither can be created or destroyed. Creation cannot happen by natural means. The 2LT has various aspects, one being the universe is winding down, entropy. Usable energy is becoming less usable, so at one point usable energy was at its max. This all points to a supernatural creation, by a supernatural creator at a certain point in which matter, space and time were created. When I read how it can happen otherwise, ALL the fools resort to science-fiction. Once a supernatural creation is accepted, then the next step is finding proof of what supernatural power did it. Neil does not know BASIC science. Not only can't we have creation without God, Neil does not know that we also can't have science without God. The laws of nature can only come from a Lawgiver, God. Tyson says his crap at about 2:00 in the video below about the eye evolution. It is proven false in the rest of the video. But to shallow people, to hell with details and what the evidence shows. Your agenda is all that matters. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmjLY3uNmLmql5Y He IS Neil deDumba$$ Tyson.

I’m so curious about what Neil would say about the information coming out about muons and his previous comments about how the planets (and astrology) could not affect us because rays or whatever can’t travel all the way to earth. And yet that’s precisely what this article said. So science seems to be saying particles collide with Cosmic rays and then travel faster than the speed of light and hit every centimeter of earth before eroding into electrons. Am I misunderstanding this? I know they are still trying to figure things out but remember the comment that “magic is just technology (or science) that we don’t understand.” I believe in science absolutely. But I also think there are things we do not understand. I am down 100% with all this sanitation evolution. I work in an environment that has to be disinfected and tools sterilized. I’m so happy about the new path to “clean living.” 😁
