I am getting as much joy listening to the amazing music of the one and only Neil Diamond now asI did way back at the beginning. You saved my life with your music Neil. I finally got to see you perform in Auckland 1996 Tennessee Moon Tour. Your music is timeless thanks for everything and all the heart felt words to your songs. I might be 80, but These songs take me back to my youth and young Motherhood. My kids grew up in your music thanks doesn't seem enough.❤❤❤

Same here; first heard him on a radio in in a bus 1971, singing Sweet Caroline. I had had little access to popular music, having been brought up on lots of classical music (which I still love and need) I have still got, and still play, several of his LP albums, as well as many other 60s and 70s musicians and singers/song-writers from that time, which I play on the H-fi system my husband and I bought in 1974...and the sound quality is head and shoulders above CDs....I am so glad I kept all my LPs...I link with the past. When I listen to them, I am ageless...

I have met plenty who have been to over 100 , 200 and even 300 concerts here in the U.K. and Europe including trips to The Greek Theatre , myself included in August '12 , and other concert dates in North America . No - one else begins to approach what Neil brought to the stage . To quote the then Musical Director of The Greek in 1972 when Neil made the greatest live album of them all : - " I e n j o y e d t h e t h e a t r i c a l e x p e r I e n c e o f m y l i f e d u e t o t h e u n s u r p a s s e d a n d a l m o s t h y p n o t n o t i c t a l e n t ' s o f N E I L D I A M O N D ."

The 1977 intro was beyond amazing. Opened with back to the audience and instrumental leading into Soolaimon... Brother Loves Traveling Show
@donaldcook3112 Жыл бұрын
@@suekilpatrick2830. . . Only in the interests of both accuracy (essential) and clarity (beneficial for all) Neil did not start his concert’s with ‘Soolaimon segueing into Brother Love’s Travelling Salvation Show’; started with ‘Soolaimon’ at various times during his 50-year performing career. What you are recalling during his ‘HOT AUGUST NIGHT’ onwards ‘set list’ is his concert-finale start. For his 1976-77 presentation he used tall, narrow one-way revolving mirrors that allowed his band to see the audience, and for Neil and his fan’s ‘just’ to reflect in both his and their own reflection’s … which he did indeed start by standing facing those tall mirrors with his back to the audience, and ‘the all of it’ reflected back to his eye’s, heart and mind. Saturday, 25th June 1977 - my first ever ‘Neil Diamond in concert’ at The London Palladium. A 700-mile round trip in two days, stayed in a Youth Hostel, no money to talk of, but . . . the best days, nights, and years of this - and I’m certain, many other lives. God bless this man , band and crew . They were all magnificent - on every single occasion .
