Probably the best Diamond song along with I’ve been this way before. This song starts with an instrument and builds to several instruments to a crescendo of sound so typical of Diamond’s songs. A song of reminisces and tightly held emotions which come up when Diamond sings the chorus. The emotion of passion he always puts into this song shows that it’s always been an important song for him and us, his fans alike. This song was written in 1976, 43 years ago today is 9 July 2019 in 43 years time this song will still find an audience just like other greats including Mozart and Beethoven Thank you Mr Diamond for creating a memory for all of us in this song.. He was a writer at the Brill Building in NYC along with Carole King and her husband Gerry Goffin and Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield that was ran by Don Kirschner. However, after the Monkees recorded his composition of "I'm A Believer" he decided that he should be singing his own material. And the rest is history.

Jonathan Livingston Seagull was earlier and my Dad would ply it and tell me the story and I would cry because of how Jonathan was being treated. I have an amusing story for you. I, we, were supposed to see him in concert in 82, but my date cancelled on me. She also happened to be my ride. So here I am with two tickets, a reservation in a good motel, and nothing else except my hand. Well, I didn't get to see Neil Diamond, and I never hooked up with Paula. I guess her dad had some kind of minor cardiac event so, that's OK, baby, I'll find someone else to go with? I'm not stupid, and that's why I'm not dead. She had to be 6'2, at least, and was a platoon Guide at Parris Island. Marine, of course. From Utah. When I asked if she was LDS, she said well if I'm a Mormon, I'm not a very good one. Hence two concert tickets and motel room which I never enjoyed.
