As a huge Neil Diamond fan,I am also the wife of a Parkinson’s diagnosis of my husband of 48 years. Can’t imagine Neil’s difficulty in dealing with the difficulties of the disease. God bless him,and hoping he can still make an occasional appearance,a few new lyrics…he can still make a Beautiful Noise. Went to see his play in Brooklyn…hoping it comes to Chicago. @FactsVerse I fell in love with him with "Solitary Man," but I think my very favorite song of Neil's is called "Open Wide These Prison Doors". If you haven't heard it, look it up. It has a very special meaning for me as the first time I heard it was when going through my divorce from a very bad domestic violence mistake of a marriage. The timing I guess, but it's a powerful song.

I’ve loved Neil ever since I heard Solitary Man and Sweet Caroline on the radio in the 60s. I saw him in concert so many times. I’ll always be grateful I got to see him in June of 2018 on his 50th Anniversary tour. His announcement at the end of that year broke my heart. God bless and keep Neil. He’s given us so much!

I doubt you'd think it fit to do so, but I *adore* most of John Waters' movies, because he chose female leads that were outside the stereotypical female archetype; Tracy Turnblad, Edna Fishpaw, Cuddles Kovinsky, Pepper Walker, HatchetFace Malnorowski & Mrs. Vernon-Williams. All the girl characters who'd be wallflowers or totally devalued get equal attention. There are a *lot* of INTETESTING trivia items in Crybaby alone, let alone Polyester, Hairspray, or others. Lust In The Dust was OK, but I've never wanted to see Pink Flamingos. That movie also blew the mold for the usual movie themes.

Neil performed at the Sydney Myer Music bowl in Melbourne many years ago to a sold-out concert. He stopped the concert till the organisers lowered the screen on the security fence so the people outside could see, as some were climbing the tree's and he didn't want anyone to fall and get hurt, didn't come back on till they lowered it. Great entertainer. Don't know any other to do the same.

This story advised Neil had to battle addiction. NO HE DIDN’T. That insinuates he drank or did drugs. The only addiction he ever had was he smoked heavily-2 packs a day back in the 70’s & 80’s. He NEVER did drugs (he wrote a song about it-The Pot Smokers Song and the people addicted at Phoenix House in NYC on his Velvet, Gloves & Spit album. Neil is an American Icon. Diamond is forever. “If You Know What I Mean.” His music will ALWAYS be a “Beautiful Noise.”
