I already considered myself blessed to be a local boy and born and raised in Hawaii, but seeing this Man Neil. Not to sound pigeon but more like watching this hammer compete and represent Hawaii in the most humblest of manners. Made me feel exponentially blessed. Mahalo braddah Neil!

Hey Neil, I want you to know that you're a great inspiration to me, and I mean from the first time I saw you on Forged in Fire. Your humble spirit makes you likeable, while your energy, strong work ethic, and great sense of humor just really inspire me. I always find myself cheering for the "underdog", and when you said (on that first show) that you only had 8 mos. experience, I was like "Yeah, I hope this guy wins!" Then after seeing THIS video and hearing you tell about what happened to your Mom, now I understand your passion. I'm sorry you had to suffer that loss and heartache, and I think that if your Mom could have realized what a great Son she raised, she would have known that she had plenty to live for. My prayers are with you, because I know that you never really "get over" the hurt, you just get used to it. (My Mom died from Alzheimer's almost 2 hrs ago). Do you have a web page, or an online shop, I'd love to see more of the blades you make. You've got a unique style. Keep up the good work!

Your friend that brought you a forge to work with after your mom died must have had some idea you would be great at it. Life changes us all. It's not unlike a knife being put under heat and pressure to bring it so a certain shape. The forge of life hammers at us until we are a particular shape. Good video sir. Keep up the good work.
