Neil was SUCH a Wonderful and Intelligent man BESIDES being the GREATEST DRUMMER/PERCUSSIONIST EVER! His Loss is like a huge open wound! :(

Neil is one of the most impressive specimens I've ever witnessed. As a drummer since 86, I never really got into Rush or Neil until very recently. Where I actually started studying his compositions, both lyrical and drum wise. I criminally took his works for granted. But the good news it that at 43 a new world of musical dimension is revealing it's self. It makes me feel like a kid again. Thank you, Neil.

And every instance in which this shit happens...the more we understand why. I lived with a Danish lass for many years, who would tell me that; even the film stars of very popular Danish entertainment would 🅽🅴🆅🅴🆁 even think to act like someone "special" in public. Det er bare ikke gjort! Danmark jeg elsker dig!

Wow . . . Peart really _stuck_ it to the leader of the liberal party of Canada in 1990, Jean Chretein, who would become the 20th Prime Minister of Canada and hold the position for a decade!
@bwhitcomb201112 жыл бұрын
Neil Peart interviewing Jean Chretien about the Liberal's Red Book. (Which they didn't follow after taking office.) Judging by Peart's reaction to Chretien, Peart probably was thinking, "I will never set foot in Much Music again." And he never did.

Why yes Sandy Foster. In Neil's book "Road Show", he wrote that while he was waiting for the host to announce his name, he was thinking "I could just run away right now and no one could stop me. Yeah, that's what I'll do. I'll just run away."

i think we've got a real ass backwards world when a rock drummer outclasses ALL the worlds current political leaders in everyway. he's better read, hes a better speaker, hes a better writer,he has more princeiples,and integrity, hes just PLAIN SMARTER at 60 hes even phiscaly stronger and has more indurance than most people a third his age. and,obviously, hes a proven creative genius. which world leader is a genius? i see none,zero most of them arent even very good politicians i mean if you cant even slap a back or kiss a baby? what good are ya?

Rockhard just stumbled upon this. Your articulation of such an interesting man was spot on. PERFECTLY EXPRESSED.... Rush is the best band ever....period. For so many reasons , not the least of which they are top of their game performers and have been for 40 f'ing years ! That politician had his a$# handed to him. Well done Neal... On your entire life man...

Most people who are compassionate, wise, and competent don't want to devote their lives to politics, especially when its such an ugly place to be in. If Peart would have grown up being polished for politics instead of devoting his life to being an artist, he'd be a different person.

I respectfully disagree with this sentiment. Although I understand where you come from, its not a fair comparison. Neil WAS polished for politics, and his life in music is instrumental in that. Neil wasnt who he was as a result of ignoring politics. I would argue that if it had not been for his life in music. That he would not have been so politically "readily available"
@mikearchibald7442 жыл бұрын
Politics is ugly only if you choose to partake in the ugliness. Politics is NOT just politicians, it is everywhere, it is everything. Right now I can list about a dozen charities and organizations that have been created to deal with social problems. Thats politics. What you choose to buy at the store, thats politics.

now that neil lives in the states maybe he can interveiw obama,barrack would probably go for it exspecting puff balls from a rock drummer it would be fun to see the look on his face when he realizes what hes dealing with
