I LOVE driving to this and Pieces of Eight!! I may shed a little tear thinking about getting, "Pieces" on Modern Drummer's Sound Supplement, and missing Neil. Was blessed enough to see my Drumming Inspiration and Rush 15 times!🥁🥁🥁

For somebody that only took piano lessons for a short period of time he had a great sense of melody and harmony.

Interesting. Never knew (until now) that Neil had ever done anything like this. There's something reminiscent of Stewart Copeland's drumming style in this piece.

Thanks for uploading this. It sounds great (at least as far as I can tell on my dinky phone speaker). Between this and Pieces of Eight, I wonder what other compositions the professor had kicking around.

Quick Google search says it was released in October of 1997, but recorded in January-March of 1996. :)

This was probably recorded in the late 80s/early 90s and released with “A work in progress” in 1997

Peart only included portions of this as well as Pieces of Eight into his tour solos. It was never performed in totality.
