I‘ve recently started to build my workshop and have also used a part of an old kitchen. I plan to hang up my tool roll so that it‘s like a tool wall but I can still take it down and roll it up if I want to go on a longer trip.

Every time you loosen the screws they wear out and the tiny dirt particles get between the parts and make that annoying cracky sound when you ride.
@ericwerner3691
@ericwerner3691 3 жыл бұрын
@@tomz2970 I was speaking only from a storage sense. Turn them 90°, and you get closer spacing. But is that enough of an issue that it should be done at all? If I saw it correctly, the hangers are individual, so going with a slight offset, high and low, might be another answer. Bars end up not lining up, closer spacing. But the bars might get in the way when trying to remove a bike from the middle. There we go, there's nothing to it, Neil just needs to double the size of his garage! It's the only logical answer. I suspect that if he swapped things around, the family could live there, then he has the whole house for the bikes! ;)

Might be worth getting a sheet of Perspex to put on the wall to go where the tyres meet the wall - easy to wipe down and keep clean and can come in a load of different colours - if you get a clear one you could create a bit of a custom bike collage behind it. Looks good i have a similar set up with not quite as much space.. where is the beer fridge? You might also want to fit a wall anchor so you can chain the bikes up for a bit of extra security... (ah edit just caught that bit at the end)

Your turn your bars so you can fit them cleaner and closer together, but does that make it annoying to always have to straighten out your bars everytime you go for a ride?? Also I would love to see you do the whole process or what you do to save time doing that? Love the build and the cabinet look great their wood color.

Very envious, recycling the old kitchen great idea and the Venhill sticker on your toolbox took me back to my moto days, when I raced with Chris Ventress who started Venhill engineering and supplied all the cables in my bikes.

Just some thoughts: - You may want to add some protection for teh wall where the rear wheels of the bikes hang. Otherwise it will look like crap really fast. So maybe some plywood or a sheet of metal or plastic. - For the wall mount you really don't need these pricy things. But you are sponsored so it's easy for you. - You may consider adding a vise for the bench. Comes in handy for lots of stuff.

Well played, good use of space, bikes by the exit, I am jealous of your little boys room and the washer & dryer in the space, cheers on the repurposing of the kitchen cabinets as well. My bike cave is on the way to having a hidden big screen behind a sliding tool wall. The homemade butcher block top workbench has spots for the surround sound stuff too. Blake's build was nice but this is a well prepared space the deserves some art and memorabilia

There’s something very satisfying about recycling furniture for workshops and other use. So thumbs up Neil for making use of material you don’t mind bashing. But question: why not have pivoting wall mounts? The entrance looks narrow and after a while I’d get frustrated with having to navigate through all the time.

Love the bike design kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L and functionality. It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad. I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube.All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that's the max of my knowledge. Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.
