1974, I’m 20 years old and this song knocks me over with its smoothness. I didn’t have anyone in my life just then but wanted someone to walk in the rain with, to walk anywhere with. Somehow this tune helped me feel hopeful that someday it would happen. Such good memories with this one. This one takes me back to a carefree time.

It was a rainy Saturday afternoon in Germany and my "girlfriend" and I went to the library. We were both in seventh grade and in love. We went to the library to hang out. We carved our initials on one of the desks with our pens and drew a heart around it with - I love you. Then we went to a record store and bought this record as a 45 single. That became our song and I can literally still feel her hand in mine and the raindrops falling on me when I hear that song. Her name is Manuela O. and I can still hear her laughing in the rain after all these decades! Thank you Manuela for your love, friendship and a perfect afternoon. We've been married for six months. We met again.

I literally sang this song as part of the high school curriculum. Our music teacher had us singing this every day. I remember Gail and I and feeling the warmth of her hand in mine sharing our love under stormy skies. What makes the so called music so bad now is true love is out and nonsense and materialism is in. It's about the fast buck and no real talent is required.

I'm looking all over for new-in-store Sedaka's Back cd; it's sold out everywhere I look. Vinyl available new, but not cd. In the hope that someone from Mr Sedaka's management is looking in here from time to time, PLEASE restart production of this cd as it was originally sold on vinyl. Record stores can't get it through distributors (sold out), Walmart doesn't have it, can't find it at Barnes&Noble, I want it in cd format, I already have it in vinyl. I watch Mr. Sedaka on his youtube channel play and sing his music from his home. It is great music, too. I just need the Sedaka's Back album to go with the Sedaka Greatest Hits cd I just bought.

I was mostly into rock but I also loved many genres and Neil Sedaka was a favorite! Me and my good buddy used to go to a karaoke bar and sing Calendar Girl! Everybody applauded! Sadly my buddy passed but I will see him again GOD willing. Amen. Thank you Mr Sedaka and Thank YOU FATHER!

I was in Junior High when this wonderful song came out. Our school bus had a radio with speakers throughout the bus. The driver had the radio tuned to the Mighty 610, KFRC San Francisco which played the great hits of the day... Listening to this, I'm 14 again and humming along to this great song....
