Many performers late in their career merely go through the motions on stage for a paycheck. Not Neil. He never takes an audience for granted and always gives the best he has.

I've seen this so many, many, many times. Seeing Neil come out and just glow, still have character in his voice and personality, was refreshing. It felt organic, not like someone on autopilot who didn't want to be there.

@shave-a-thon34154 жыл бұрын
That would mean he also went to school with Hank Medress who went on to produce Tony Orlando's great hits. Actor Harvey Keitel was there around the same time. Neil Diamond graduated a few years later and sportscaster Marv Albert graduated the year after Diamond Actor Lou Gossett, Jr. graduated a few years before Sedaka did from Lincoln. How about this one. Songwriter Mort Shuman graduated around the same year as Sedaka from Lincoln. Along with his co-writing partner Doc Pomus, he wrote "A Teenager in Love", "Turn Me Loose", "This Magic Moment", "Save The Last Dance For Me", "Little Sister", "Can't Get Used to Losing You", "(Marie's the Name) His Latest Flame", "Viva Las Vegas" and "Sweets for My Sweet".

@classicalaid12 жыл бұрын
@@richarddubois5226 Thanks for asking, Richard. Yes indeed! I am fully recovered from the virus. It does give one another perspective on life and made me a more loving and forgiving person. (I had something called long covid after, which kept me from moving very much for many months after recovering from the disease itself. Thankfully friends pitched in and saw me through the whole ordeal. ) When I hear about folks who refuse to be vaccinated, I say a prayer and hope they don't have young children. Adversity to me, Richard, has always been an opportunity. And that recent brush with death was no exception. Be well.

Why are such great shows being footed only by fans cellphones? Are video crews so expensive to hire nowadays?
@philollenberg3 жыл бұрын
Yes, they actually are pretty expensive - it's a lot of personnel and labour. Not just cameras, you have to change the lighting (to work well for cameras), do a lot of video editing, audio mixing, and other post-production to get a quality product. Plus you have to pay and get permission from all the band members, songwriters, rights holders, etc. If the cost isn't likely to break even or turn profit on DVD sales or streaming revenue, it's not likely to happen.

I have been a big fan since buying my first album in 1973, been to 3 concerts in England and bought every new album that was made available, sadly watching this 2020 show Neil is now struggling to sing in tune, and forgot the words to "alone at last". Neil is a lovely man , but I now think it is time he retired from show business and enjoy the rest of his life with his family.

@@vijayhoodoo9808 exactly?! When someone such as he, who has been singing, writing songs, studied piano at Julliard, hang it up? If you live and breathe music, you will do it until your last breath. That is dedication and absolute love for the art! The moment you stop moving and stay stagnant, is the day you stop living. Neil, you're a legend!!

CeeCee I totally agree with you. I think Neil does a wonderful job. How could he be singing out of tune he’s a classically trained pianist. Neil has been doing mini concerts on you tube now since April and each time he sings and plays the piano he gets better with age.
@Digita1212 Жыл бұрын
Could have done without the girl singer. He does not need backup. She ruins the songs.
