He used it on this tour, this was 2003, he would alternate songs, using it and this Goldtop which is set up with the same pickup configuration, Bigsby, etc...of course Old Black is also a Goldtop which a previous owner had spray painted black by the time Neil acquired it in the late 60s

Neil brought Greendale to the Greek Theater in Los Angeles for 3 shows in July 2003. Went to all 3 shows. Then he brought it back to the Shrine Auditorium in February 2004 for one night. Went to that show too. PS that's Russ Tamblyn in the yellow slicker dancing on stage. Yep Biff from West Side Story! He was part of the cast of Greendale. Rest in peace Pegi Young.

When I first heard Greendale I thought "he isn't even trying!". After several listens in those charged times it became magic and hit the spot on so many levels with the way many of us were feeling. Then seeing the full Greendale show in Sydney, though it certainly has a amateurish approach, the overall effect was pretty powerful. One of my favorite concert experiences and I know very lucky to experience. I don't know whether this was done at every show but in Sydney there was no awareness or recognition by the band of the performance going on around them except at one moment of NY making eye contact. Added a nice surreal touch like it was all in his or our heads.
