My dad and I went to two Neil Young gigs in 2013 and 2014 and the man (and crazy horse) were just incredible. There are very few artists who put their heart and soul into every note they play and feel it and you can see him feel it - note - by note - the authenticity and rawness and pure magic is indescribable. There are very few people on this planet that I can put into the league of Neil Young.

untouchable...everytime I see him sing it, he is COMPLETELY invested that song. They just dont make 'em like Mr Young, anymore. I call him "The General of Rock 'N Roll", because he has his way of doing shit, and like a general, you ALWAYS get the feeling that him, and him alone, is running the show. His band, answers to him and does shit his way, or they probably dont have a damn job.

I was at this and it was magical. And I remember the coverage on the BBC was sparse, which happens for certain acts at Glastonbury. But the BBC does have an oligopoly on the coverage of it. Neil is unreal. I always thought from my several attendances at this festival. Some things I saw more covered than others. This set in 09 didn't get the credit it deserved. It was better than Radiohead or pulp.

@@ivanostry3359Aye right!. It's not a patriotic song at all. Quite the opposite. It's unreal that some folk can hear the lyrics and think it's some patriotic pro-US song (aye, I know he's Canadian) or whatever. Same with Springsteen's Born in the USA. It was far from a celebration of being born there
@bobschenkel792111 ай бұрын
@@ivanostry3359 I know what the song is about, it is very hard hitting and in your face, like most Neil songs.
