I saw a couple of these shows and even snuck in a big cassette recorder and taped a bunch of one show. Still have it. A different night there it was packed and there were a few tables right up against the 4 1/2 or so foot stage. A couple were empty so I slipped a guy working there five bucks and my girlfriend and I got one. Five bucks! Sometimes he was a foot away. I still have matches from the show, too.

The first time I saw Neil I thumbed from wheeling to the melon arena and back with my best friend who just passed away a little over a year ago we had peanut heaven seats with my friend leading the way we made it to the front of the second section it was the rusted out garage tour

Beautiful intense version, with additional verses to the one present in Reactor. Recent news is that the 1978 Boarding House concert film will be included in the NY Archives Vol. III.

I live finding rare versions of neil young's songs. Especially ones recorded way before the studio version was released. Awesome to see how his music evolves. Thanks for posting

If you've never heard Shots (from Re·ac·tor, 1981) then there are probably over a hundred Neil songs you've never heard.

Neil never stops. He’s an actual artist. Not compelled by advertising or sales to create art. He’s ACTUALLY one of the true old rockers that stuck to the rock and roll mentality. Doesn’t allow suits and ties to tell him how to write or produce songs.

Didn't know it was that old of a song. Only knew the Electric version on RE Actor

Look at how young he looks in the picture,who knows where or when.

He looks like a hillbilly from Kentucky or Tennessee ... just one of his MANY looks.

This acoustic version is far superior to the electric version that appeared on Reactor. It is a pity Neil never released this acoustic version on a studio album.

reactor is the greatest record ever my man! its all just personal opinion in the end aint it?
@erichaeberle25567 ай бұрын
Agreed. For this song, the acoustic version hits home better for me. Although the Reactor album is one of his best!
