24 and 30 looks best. Your 60 looked a little fuzzy. Thank you. Im working on improving my Livestream game, I normally shoot 24 unless I have a good WIFI connection, Thanks again.

Very good presentation of various frame rates Neil! This proves my own point and after being advised by MrCamera Junkey that the best results when filming or livestreaming guitar playing - the higher is better, and I use 1080 50p. The movements are smoother and I can move fast. At 24fps the blurr is significant. Clarification, my cameras will only go to 1080 if I want 50 or 60 p, otherwise I'd be using 4K…

Thanks for this brief, informative explanation, Neil. What struck me is you comment about ones decision on frame rate and how it might be tied to one’s bandwidth. I have only rural hispeed (sort of) capped at 50/10, but it can also dip to 9/.7 at the most inopportune of times. I’ve given up hope of livestreaming anything as initial attempts offer less than max headroom results. Am I wrong in thinking that you might suggest I consider 24fps as a possible solution to my hispeed woes?

Hi, thank for you kind comments. Your frame rate and streaming resolution will impact what you can stream at, based on your available bandwidth. For your speeds I'd recommend trying 24/25FPS at 1080p (HD) and see how you go. You may have to change the resolution to 720P if your streamed video looks pixelated and stutters.

@@NeilFarrimond 🤩 thanks for the quick reply - priceless! Will definitely give this a try this week - at various times of day, hoping to find a time when my internet might actually allow me to try livestreaming without angst! So, if I set my end to 24fps/720p, and if I’m doing a guest interview, using either EcammLive, SquadCast, or Sessions.us - would it be best if the guest also runs at those numbers? And would it make a difference if both our audio recordings were set to 44 or 48? Btw, between 4 am and 7 am I can usually hit 50+/10+ - but not all of my guests would buy into that 😂 It’s later in the day when the neighbourhood kids get home from school and begin ‘thieving’ my bandwidth from the local cel tower that numbers dip below sneakerware speeds. Kids, eh!

@TheDeliveryDoctor I would always test first with an unlisted stream with a guest and review the quality overall.

@@NeilFarrimond Sage Advice! I ran through ECL this morning and was encouraged by the "Recommended speed" posted as I was changing some of the ECL settings. T he stock settings for livestream suggested I needed 5.9 Mbps which I don't always get, but by reducing to 720p and even 30fps it dipped to a required 1.4Mbps and subbing in 1080p/30fps gave 2.2. ** those settings also had High Quality Video turned off as at this point I want to ensure a higher quality audio over video if it comes down to it - Audio podcast as bottom line.
