@neilfisher3 жыл бұрын
Haha... @C R, it's warm coastal snow - could almost be considered some sort of spa treatment when compared to cold blowing prairie snow 🤣 Cousteau is generally very well behaved, but as you can see in this video he often ends up on a leash. Mountain tops are dangerous places and if you happen to be a dog that enjoys crazily running around, without any care for anyone's wellbeing - then a leash can be a life saver 👍👍👍

@neilfisher Жыл бұрын
@Robert Emerson he loves his jacket and expects it once we pause at any summit. He works just as hard as me climbing and trudging through the deep snow, and once or twice in the past showed obvious signs of being cold once we stopped moving, but since throwing a warm jacket on him - Cousteau is happier than ever with hiking in the winter 😃😃😃

Man, what an excellent video! Ten thumbs up! 😆 A few thoughts I had while watching. Even though I'm not even a rank amateur, there are things I know that can help. Sometimes a 3rd of the screen is actually too much and even only using a 5th of the screen is enough. It makes the near elements more present in the shot because there is less of the sky to draw the eye to the horizon. For anyone who doesn't know, adding the sort of natural audio he is discussing falls into the field of "sound design". There are a good number of videos on that to help you learn how to do it but you don't have to have all their tools. Pre-canned sounds can work well as long as they're the right sort of character (steps in a vast field vs a closed in alley, both dirt but both different.) If you're monetizing, though, learn the law around using these things and make sure you get the right license. Even something like Cakewalk (free software) can help you do a good job with sound design without spending the cash on something in the realm of Photoshop (but if you have it to spend and you're trying to make a living off this, you should spend that cash.) Efficient flight and comprehensive knowledge of your drone and its controls is one of the best points in this entire video! You can't get the right shot if you don't know how to use your drone's software and what its physical limits are! Compose on your own time. Shoot on your employer's time (if you're working for someone). Don't waste the clock because you don't know how to get what you want. Also, multiple batteries and a way to recharge the controller itself if needed. Power packs with PD ports are a must if you're gonna be out all day. 25000 mah packs aren't that big or heavy anymore. Once the battery cools down, plug it in. Then top off the rechargeables and the power pack when you get home and also before you go out on the next shoot because if you're not constantly active, charge can dissipate over time, especially since most batteries have electronics in them now that are constantly using a slight amount of current even disconnected and in storage. As a famous man once said, "We're burnin' daylight!" 🤠Lighting conditions change fast. Make sure you're ready when they're right! Low ISOs aren't just a good idea on drones. Every digital camera I have seen starts to go to hell after you go much above 250 for stills. As he says at the end, the equipment is only as good as the operator and the resulting scene will match that. A good operator can get good results on lower quality gear than you might expect. Much of what is in use for creating many of the stunning KZbin videos you see costs well under $1,000 and sometimes you might be surprised to learn that the only thing they used was a cell phone and a tripod and maybe two or three $100 panel lights. (podcasts and such) Again, fantastic video and killer footage! (Please tell me you didn't take any of that through any kind of post-production and that this is, indeed, the raw drone footage. All Amazing stuff!)
