Neko Case continues to amaze me. We celebrate the songwriting and vocal talents of far lesser artists, but she has a spectacular body of work that will endure.

@vivianintheflesh6 жыл бұрын
She's talked about this in interviews. She's not, but she's probably close.
@RickNance5 жыл бұрын
@@vivianintheflesh yeah, you don't need perfect pitch to hold one in your head for an hour or so or to pick a relative point from a passing piano
@blakemitchell11504 жыл бұрын
I know musicians who have toured and played with her, and in their opinions, she does have it. Close enough. She basically never wants a reference note from what I've heard.
@austinshoupe30034 жыл бұрын
Very likely great relative pitch. A lot of musicians can find pitches perfectly from their aural memory or muscle memory. Perfect pitch means you can identify any isolated pitch by name as easily as most of us do color, which very few westerners can do. But with enough training/experience anyone can develop their relative pitch into something close to perfect pitch.

Neko and Kelly remind me of John and Paul. Neko/John and Kelly/Paul for vocal analogs. Neko has an almost nasal edge to her voice when she powers her voice loudly and Kelly has a much "softer" quality even when (I think) her under-appreciated power shines through (the girl has a voice as powerful as Neko). Lennon and McCartney sounded fine on their own and transcendent harmonizing as, I feel, Neko and Kelly do when they harmonize.

"Gorilla-suit-clad-Case" :)). Or how life would be terribly boring and monotonous, if there are no moments of relaxation and fun, And Neko does it in a joking but healthy and imaginative way. But beyond that, let us not be deceived by appearances, spirit of Halloween pantomimes, because Neko Case dont play in service .... and performance of 3 songs is brilliant, taken very seriously, and strictly professional. Worth.
