Just a reminder that everything Nohebi did in this match is within the rules and absolutely NOT cheating.

Something that needs to be said is that, unfortunately, the OVA did the Tokyo prelims kinda dirty with all the stuff they had to cut out, especially with some Yamamoto material and Nohebi. In the manga there's a really nice scene where some other players who lost early on diss Nohebi for their play style, but it's Kuroo who stands up for them, highlighting how their success is largely thanks to their great skills at defense and feints (and he also disses the guys a tiny bit in a roundabout way for being disrespectful even though they lost way earlier). Also, much like other people commented, technically Nohebi isn't even cheating - they're just using absolutely /everything/ they can to their advantage. In Haikyuu in particular it's somewhat refreshing to see even. There's nothing about putting spin on the ball in the rules, Kuroo hurting his nail was an accident (the only time where extra spin can be detrimental is when you're doing an overpass, because if the ball spins too much it might suggest a double touch, which is against the rules).

Nothing they did is technically against the rules. Yeah the anime didn't give them justice like in the manga.

As much as people hate Nohebi, they never break any rules/cheats. They just butter up the refs, provoke the other team and block the view of the refs. The refs were the one that fall for it and make their judgment themselves. The other team were the one fall their provocation. I believe they have the talent and ability cause you can only get few points from what they are doing, the other points are their ability and plays.

i wouldn't even call that cheating. If you play sports you understand that everyone plays like Nohebi. Trash talking, being friends with refs and using tactics to get an advantage is common. If you are not trying to injury someone, but you are just doing everything possible to outperform your opponents you have my respect.

the team fukurodani lost against is itachiyama. they are considered the best team in the country and won the last national tournament. they also have on of the top three aces. the ova are somewhat understating how nekoma had to fight for the win against the orochimaru gang. they are pretty good aswell on top playing pretty dirty

I like that nohebi is on this show , not every team has to be great or playing with sportsmanship , even in the big leagues there's some dick teams out there

Nohebi actually represents most sports teams. Haikyu showed most people being wholesome in the series, but in reality competitors are always looking to take small advantages to get a win.

It's a shame that they have to cut some part from the manga in this arc. Kuroo's actually defend Nohebi's method and talk smack back to audiences who bad mouth them and some back story that show how and why they developed those mentality in the first place. Also the reason why this method is "not that bad", not just in volleyball but in sport in general. That part is a great piece of writing of the author. Basically this OVA start with how bad snake team looks and cut out the redemption arc. But if you love fair and square type of game to death, I don't think reading the manga could change your mind anyway. Haha.

i actually like nohebi's mentality i could be wrong but the only real cheat was when they blocked the ref's line of sight, i hated that, but the rest was all shit-talk and mental games wich are just another way to destabilize the opponent, Tendo tried to do the same against karasuno more than once in the match against shiratorizawa

I mean even blocking the ref's line of sight isn't cheating. I'm a volleyball ref myself and its very common that the players try and do things to get you to misinterpret plays. As a ref, it's very annoying to deal with because you have to make a bit more of a risky judgement call, which in turn makes people upset no matter what call you go with, but that's just how the game works. What I always tell people is that if they want to score a point, they need to make sure that I see them score. Obviously not saying that I won't try and call the game to the best of my ability, but also making sure that they know it isn't my responsibility to bend to every single one of their lucky very hard to determine in or out plays.

I understand why people don't like Nohebi, I would absolutely hate playing against them, but I don't know if I would call them cheaters. Just like every team has it's own style that they use to score points, Nohebi uses the rules and pushes them

Nohebi is really a cheap team, but as an athlete I respect how they play and they do it in order to win. It is frustrating as a spectator and if you play against a team like this but its just normal, whether you call it cheating, desperation, they have the knack to win it not because they make it unfair but they take advantage of their environment. Nohebi as a team is like an esports team who look out for bugs in the game they play and abuses it against other teams. Not their fault if its in the game.

You said it. The fake out was my favourite thing they did, it's so sneaky and clever that I don't know how anyone would think to try it. Nohebi is their own kind of crazy like all the other teams. It's no miracle they got that far.
@mence5992
@mence5992 2 жыл бұрын
yeah, sometimes people treat Nohebi like a disgusting team. Like if in NBA players do not flop every other play or in footbal strikers do not dive for a penalty. What Nohebi did is less than anything compared to real sport. when I played football our coach taught us that if you get a yellow card because you move from the wall. The next time opponents have a free kick the same person should move again disturbing the free kick. Because a ref will never eject a player for getting twice a yellow card for that stupid foul. We always did it and never got ejected.

Honestly, I like nohebi. Their team's pretty unique in the series. Ironically they're one of the most realistic team.

I don't get why they're shit talking nohebi. It's very easy to get on a high horse from afar. But when you put in that much effort, stakes are high and you're within the limits and rules why wouldn't you try to get every advantage you can get.

Nohebi did nothing wrong. They didnt cheat, didnt intentionally injure anyone. That being said, if you have to resort to cheap tricks, then your team is not likely to win against stronger teams who don't. Just saying.

okay idk if it’s just because the sports i’ve played were more gentlemanly or you couldn’t really communicate with other players during however i will never agree with trash talking (for fun as friendly rivals is fine but there are boundaries and it can affect people quite a bit) and nohebi acting like goody two shoes pisses me off (you can be honest about what has happened without bowing)
